I did not say he did; he merely relayed what many responsible people in Colorado advised of (including the democrat governor among others).
But hey, if you think it will make Ohio a better state, a better and safer place to live, work and raise a family, and a better place to start or expand businesses and enhance job growth, then go ahead and vote to give a monopoly to 10 already-wealthy investors and expose our youth to more drug abuse and promote it to them ................whatever turns you on.

I likely won't vote on the issue, not being a resident of the state. It appears that the AG needs to make a return trip.

Ohio has 200,000 jobs unfilled; La. creates craft training programs
The skilled labor shortage is hurting several states. In Ohio, businesses in manufacturing and construction say they are struggling to find workers with mechanical, technical and social know-how. More than 200,000 available jobs are posted to a state jobs website. In Louisiana, community colleges, private facilities and industry representatives are at work to provide training opportunities for craft workers, and new programs in welding and construction have emerged. Dayton Daily News (Ohio) (11/1), The Advocate (Baton Rouge, La.) (10/30)
It is amazing how many jobs go unfilled because applicants cannot pass a drug test; let's make it worse.

I must have missed the part that stated the reasoning for the unfilled jobs is people unable to pass a drug test. Can you point it out?QuakerOats;1760690 wrote:Ohio has 200,000 jobs unfilled; La. creates craft training programs

Have you talked to any business owners or HR people lately? Usually takes a ratio of at least 5 applicants to fill 1 job due to drug test failures.

What if it tests positive for alcohol? What about nicotine?dontcare;1760473 wrote:I had a nice meeting with my employees this morning. Told them if issue 3 passes, I will make them randomly take a drug test whenever I want. It they refuse, they are fired, if they test positive for marijuana, they are fired. None of them had an issue with that. Happy voting folks.

Yes, No, Yes.
#1: I like the idea that if the group is redistricting and can't come to a compromise and has to resort to a simple majority vote, that the boundaries only stand for 4 years instead of 10. It would be nice to have actual competitive districts instead of bullshit where a party is basically guaranteeing themselves a seat for 10 years.
#2: For a bunch of people who preach individual responsibility and lack of big government, I find it hilarious that Republicans want to put the power of what gets on the ballot into the hands of a small group of people. The idea of having to do a 2 step ballot to get something passed (similar to what we see with Issue 3 thanks to Issue 2) and the confusion that it will cause sounds like a nightmare. I also find it funny that these people never stepped up with this proposal when the Casinos were on the ballot...just when it came to weed. So that tells me that they can't get the cut they want from weed, like they were able to with the Casinos, so they want it blocked. It's a bullshit Issue and I hope it goes down in flames.
#3: I went back and forth on it so many times. As a fan of craft beer, I compared it to the government repealing Prohibition of alcohol but saying that you can only get beer from Budweiser, Miller, and Coors. That would be awful. But since I don't smoke, it doesn't affect me as much. What finally swayed my vote is the people who need it for medical reasons. I don't think the people who are trying to get it on the ballot next year will come anywhere close to raising the funds and getting the signatures necessary. So those that need marijuana for medical reasons will be going quite awhile without it. So I voted in favor of Issue 3, but will not be partaking if it passes.

There are many of these reports, but just ask business owners and HR professionals looking to hire. The numbers are highly disturbing.

These indicate failure rates to 60% I believe ........there are companies around here in the 80% range.
Of course, if you don't think even 10% - 20% is a problem, then the numbers really don't matter much no matter how high they go.

What about the painkiller issue? In regards to Ohio, I'd rather focus on that than weed. The most-common drugs that appear on failed tests among local workers are marijuana and painkillers, Dunne said. - See more at: http://www.vindy.com/news/2012/jun/10/lack-of-clean-drug-tests-to-hold-back-va/#sthash.YldjHQM6.dpuf
Also, you're acting like these jobs are for everyone and if you're clean you'll just get hired and be able to make it. It's not that easy. My father works for a firm that is contracted out for oil/gas companies. The work is VERY physically demanding.
Not being able to provide facts to back up his claims is an ongoing trend here.queencitybuckeye;1760726 wrote:So you're saying you made up the earlier statistic.

I'm not talking about alcohol and I don't hire smokers. As I said, none of them had an issue. My business, my rules. Business is great to by the way, and my employees love working for me. They get treated right, they get paid very well, and they get the job done. End of story.ernest_t_bass;1760693 wrote:What if it tests positive for alcohol? What about nicotine?

Voted down weed. I was a regular user for a long time and now still occasionally smoke. I want it passed at a national level. I want to know how impaired driving will be treated and tested. Just because I'm a responsible smoker doesn't mean everyone is.

Judge has ruled that polls will be open until 9pm in Hamilton County.
Will be interested to see if anyone actually goes and votes after 7:30pm.
Probably going to delay all results tonight, now. So get ready for a long night.

legalizing dope will just put it in the hands of too many young kids and its way more damaging to an adolescent mind then an adults.
As for the whole "getting fired" thing....I am in a union contract and it states that we do not use dope. LIkely not going to change

I'm not kidding.
Unreal how members of older generations are so out of touch with young people today.
