I must have missed the part that stated the reasoning for the unfilled jobs is people unable to pass a drug test. Can you point it out?

Have you talked to any business owners or HR people lately? Usually takes a ratio of at least 5 applicants to fill 1 job due to drug test failures.

#1: I like the idea that if the group is redistricting and can't come to a compromise and has to resort to a simple majority vote, that the boundaries only stand for 4 years instead of 10. It would be nice to have actual competitive districts instead of bullshit where a party is basically guaranteeing themselves a seat for 10 years.

#2: For a bunch of people who preach individual responsibility and lack of big government, I find it hilarious that Republicans want to put the power of what gets on the ballot into the hands of a small group of people. The idea of having to do a 2 step ballot to get something passed (similar to what we see with Issue 3 thanks to Issue 2) and the confusion that it will cause sounds like a nightmare. I also find it funny that these people never stepped up with this proposal when the Casinos were on the ballot...just when it came to weed. So that tells me that they can't get the cut they want from weed, like they were able to with the Casinos, so they want it blocked. It's a bullshit Issue and I hope it goes down in flames.

#3: I went back and forth on it so many times. As a fan of craft beer, I compared it to the government repealing Prohibition of alcohol but saying that you can only get beer from Budweiser, Miller, and Coors. That would be awful. But since I don't smoke, it doesn't affect me as much. What finally swayed my vote is the people who need it for medical reasons. I don't think the people who are trying to get it on the ballot next year will come anywhere close to raising the funds and getting the signatures necessary. So those that need marijuana for medical reasons will be going quite awhile without it. So I voted in favor of Issue 3, but will not be partaking if it passes.

You must have included the wrong links. None of them validate your claim.

These indicate failure rates to 60% I believe ........there are companies around here in the 80% range.

Of course, if you don't think even 10% - 20% is a problem, then the numbers really don't matter much no matter how high they go.

What about the painkiller issue? In regards to Ohio, I'd rather focus on that than weed.


Also, you're acting like these jobs are for everyone and if you're clean you'll just get hired and be able to make it. It's not that easy. My father works for a firm that is contracted out for oil/gas companies. The work is VERY physically demanding.

I'm not talking about alcohol and I don't hire smokers. As I said, none of them had an issue. My business, my rules. Business is great to by the way, and my employees love working for me. They get treated right, they get paid very well, and they get the job done. End of story.

Voted down weed. I was a regular user for a long time and now still occasionally smoke. I want it passed at a national level. I want to know how impaired driving will be treated and tested. Just because I'm a responsible smoker doesn't mean everyone is.
