Naquin sounds like he is making a push for Almontes spot. 7/15 in the year or something.

He needs to. Or a nice lift from Zimmer halfway through the season would be nice. Is Urschela going to start in the majors or Cbus?

Plan was AAA, but he is apparently hitting very well in ST, and his defense is obviously above average. So we will see.

The Tribe does have some very good outfield prospects waiting in the wings. It's always tough to judge guys like Naquin, because they are hitting against AAA pitchers or borderline players trying to make a squad. As we get closer to April, those ABs will mean a lot more. It certainly is a good sign that he's hitting .400+ now....and I'm rooting for him to make the squad and take the AL by storm....but in reality, we'll see.

Urshela still making a case to start the season in the bigs. Not that it means much, but also glad to see Napoli hitting well, and hearing good things still about our top 3 starting pitchers. 20 days and counting

Another moldy oldie/bargain bin type of signing in Marlon Byrd....(low risk)

Brantley took his first live swings today in an intersquad scrimmage. Also threw a guy out stretching a single. Good to hear.

Are they still shooting for late April for Brantley?

^^^^ I was wondering the same, because it's sounding like he may be ready to go.

I think he is trying to come back sooner. It's all up in the air depending on trainers and how he feels. I do believe some sort of decision needs to be made soon bc of some deadline dealing with the dl and backdating it or something. Ha sorry, read it somewhere but not exactly sure

The Tribe's pitching prospect, Casey Weathers is healthy and throwing 108 MPH (with a crow hop albeit)...still pretty amazing.

Still not sure why they want to send Urshela down. Uribe should not be an everyday player, and Urshela is playing well. I assume it has to do with arbitration type stuff? Naquin still playing well too. 13 days to go

11 days till opening day....
Tyler Naquin has made the opening day roster. Naquin joins an outfield consisting of Lonnie Chisenhall, Rajai Davis, and Michael Brantley.
Naquin has hit .447 this spring and 8 extra base hits in 38 ABs... an OPS of 1.342.

Always great to see the young guys EARN their spot. He knew the pressure was on him and came through. Good to see. Unlike guys like Marte and a few others in the past who were handed a spot.

Urshela will be back .
He hit .308 with an OPS of 1.182.
nothing more than a numbers game... They will start with Uribe who they invested some money in with Jose Ramirez as utility guy to back him up.

Looks like Brantley won't make the opener...unlikely to play another spring game.

He should be the opening day starter, imo.

Cowgill hit a three run bomb today.

Tribe likely to carry 5 outfielders with Brantley being worked in slowly.

Yea and he's batting .122 vs spring training pitching. Not impressed. Someone else has to be better.

Makes more sense now. Lonnie starting the season on the DL. Supposedly should only miss first two series

Only real roster question left is Tomlin or Anderson.
