Makes little sense to move a slick fielding/light hitting 3B to 1B. Just read tweets that deal between Reds and Tribe is unlikely. What small markets are dropping big cash in free agency? The DBacks? They seem to do this every few years, suck then sell everyone.

You can pretty much say this about every tribe off season. Dolan is too much of a cheap fuck to try and get this team over the hump. All these rumors are just rumors and nothing will come out of it. Multiple reasons, but the ownership of the Suns and Cardinals have probably gone a long way in giving Phoenix sports that reputation. Bidwell was an AWFUL owner that didn't pay his players until they moved into U of Phoenix Stadium, and Sarver was one of the NBA owners that was complaining the loudest about losing money before the last NBA work stoppage. In addition to that, east coasters don't typically travel to the desert unless it's to Vegas, so people aren't aware. Not this year, but in the years to come (have no idea of his contract situation, but Carrasco is under team control for like 5 more years). While on the flip side, you have 2 pitchers entering their best years. Frazier is on the wrong side of 30 to make a deal for 1 of them, let alone both, IMO. That deal would have made even less sense for the reds who are committed to getting younger. I'd say whoever came up with those names was way off

Lol, I read that again to see what you meant. I initially read it Carrasco and Salazar, not Santana. Changes things a bit. Salazar would be the most likely to be dealt... Maybe Bauer. As Laley stated, Carrascp has a long term team friendly contract... Teams are going to have to offer a lot for that.

Heard an interview with Francona this morning talking about the winter meetings. In a nutshell, he basically said no need to freak out if something doesn't get done at the meetings because it's often where the groundwork is laid out for future deals. What he also said, which I thought was interesting, was "we also realize that we are nowhere near ready (roster-wise) for Spring Training." Your move front office.

Oh, I agree but he seems like the type who won't speak up about it. At times last year when you'd think he would explode & lose it, he just kept an even keel with a "stay the course" type of mentality.
