I didn't rank the teams. I just listed 4 teams. I listed teams I thought had strong resumes assuming the season ended today.

Do you really think two teams from the SEC west can make the playoffs? One of those two teams are guaranteed not to be in the SEC title game.

It's interesting to go back and read different posters predictions week by week, especially when teams are falling every week. This is why I think polls are stupid so early in the year but in the nature of this thread and for the fun of it I'll post my current top 4.

If the playoff were to be today

1. Utah
2. Baylor
3. Ohio State (can't leave the defending champs out)
4. LSU

Neither Baylor or TCU will make it. They have dreadful defenses and they'll lose to a mediocre B12 team.

1. Ohio State (13-0)
2. Baylor (12-0)
3. Utah (13-0)
4. Alabama (12-1)

Yes, under a completely different system though and one team was unbeaten, the other had one loss. He also had LSU ahead of Bama, which would mean LSU beat Bama. Never would Bama get in with 2 losses and no SEC title game appearance.

If I'm the he that you're referring to, I have Alabama beating LSU regular season and both would have 1 loss with Alabama going to the SEC title game based on head to head. The top 4 changes every week with teams losing, that was my opinion last week but now with Stanford's big win over UCLA last night they will have to be in the conversation and my PAC12 no rep prediction may no longer be true. In the next couple of weeks the playoff picture will begin to take shape.

The problem is you had LSU ranked #2 and Alabama ranked #3...which also confused me. If Alabama beats LSU, goes 12-1 and wins the SEC Title, they will assuredly be ranked ahead of LSU in the playoff standings. Both could get in, I guess, but it wouldn't be 2. LSU and 3. Alabama, as you posted.

"Or" and "nor" do not have the same meaning. If you wish to say that TCU will not make the playoff in your sentence above, "nor" is the only of the two that fulfills your intent.

You are a moron. Or and nor can both follow neither, but only one of them maintains the intent of your statement. You also posted a link to a dictionary -- which has the sole purpose of defining words -- for the purpose of something other than defining words. You would not post a link to the MLB rulebook in order to make an argument about hockey, so why the hell would anyone give a shit about a dictionary's take on grammar? Do yourself a favor and use that dictionary to figure out the meaning of the words you are using. LOL.

Pending the outcome of this Florida/LSU game, things have gotten much clearer after this week. Next week, Clemson goes to Miami and Utah goes to USC, which aren't gimme games, but there won't be much change in the top 8 until week 10. That week, we have Clemson/Florida State and Alabama/LSU. The winner of those games are definitely in the top tier line headed for the playoff, along with the OSU/MSU winner and the Baylor/TCU winner.
