I was so tired one day that I smashed my face doing plyo push-ups!

Did day 1 yesterday...ugh! I'm definitely feeling it today. I'll probably work out 4 to 5 days a week with p90 and then do some light cardio 2 days a week. I go out of town every other weekend which will make it hard to do p90x those days. I definitely want to get in shape and feel better but I'm not going to follow everything to a T.

If you are only doing 5 days I'd skip kenpo on day 6 or on day 4 do only half yoga then kenpo skipping the intro.

To condense it to 4 days:
Day 1: Add pushups to legs and back (pause between sets)
Day 2: ½ Yoga/stretch then kenpo (skip warmup)
Day 3: Shoulder and arms, then abs
Day 4: Plyo

Started back up yesterday. I know I said I'd probably not do the program again but I needed it's structure. I likely won't be doing yoga (will replace it with sprints). Plyo should be interesting today.

I lost a lot in the pushup category from when I last did this. Went with the bands for the pullups. I'll eventually get back to pullups but I can't do too many plus I still have my bicep issue. I plan on working some Insanity into this....maybe in the second phase.

If you have a pullup bar, try using a chair. It helps until you're able to do them on your own.

I had to use a chair my first couple weeks. You will eventually get there, when I started I couldnt do more than 4 or 5 pull ups, now I'm around 15-20

Made it through plyo today. Probably was only about 80% as far as my usual intensity. That should improve next week but right now, my knees & spine are fried.

Just read through this thread. I was interested in the cardio facet of P90X to supplement my work at the gym. My girlfriend started doing Cardio X, Kenpo, and AbRipper along with her regular running program. For cardio purposes would you recommend doing what she's doing or looking into this Insanity program?

Thanks!

I think Insanity is more cardio intense. Cardio X is nothing. Plyo X is a different story. You will outgrow the Kenpo & Cardio X dvd's quickly. AbRipper X is MONEY.

I've done AbRipper in the past when I could find it on YouTube. Its been a while so I forgot the complete routine. I will probably get Insanity and if it has some strength aspects I will go low weight/high rep at the gym... I will post updates when I start.

Not sure if I have posted this on here before. Here is a condensed chest, back & legs.

Started week 2 of round 3 today. So far, so good....like falling off a log.

Am using bands instead of pullups because the pullups were constantly re-injuring a tweaked bicep.

So much more convenient than the actual dvds. Ignoring the cost factor just because I can put it on my Zune or stream it to the Xbox.

Just finished week 1 of round 2

How are you guys doing with your diet? Do you allow yourself to have a "cheat" meal or day during the week?

Ok....now I REALLY feel like the village idiot. After being on P90X off & on for a year and a half now, I just realized that while doing the Plyo X video that I'm doing the exercises at TWICE the speed of Tony and the kids. When they do one "Mary Catherine", I'm doing two and when Dom is doing one "Jump Knee Tuck", at ...FULL speed, I'm doing TWO. No wonder I'm spitting up lung...LOL

I slowed down the pace to the pace they were doing and it's much easier. The way my exercise mat is situated in the garage, I am not facing the DVD player so I just was going off Tony's voice, not actually WATCHING the video.

Remember...."Wow upside down spells 'mom''.....which leads me to Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there.

This is funny as hell. I'm doing plyo tomorrow, so I'll see if I can figure out how you could think to do it double speed. I think you might be ready for insanity and did not even know it. Maybe you need to do plyo with a weighted vest!

Good form is crucial.

I've done plyo with a weighted vest. It caused issues with my internal organs so I scrapped it.
