(trisiderises) I still feel a little burn and do 30 each side. The flip grip twist triceps extentions are worthless to me. I can not up the weight to 20 and 15 does nothing for me.

i always felt the tricep workouts were weak. It's hard without cable exercises and body weight dips.

I still get good burn from chair dips and a decent burn from lying tris (brain crushers) but don't want to heavy up to much on them.

That's why I subbed out the exercises like flip grip kickbacks with cable pushdowns, kickbacks with close grip bench presses (barbell) and chair dips with dips between benches with three to five 45 lb olympic weight plates in my lap.

I've subbed out quite a few things by adding standing barbell overhead press (shoulder day instead of alternating dumbbell presses), bench press (after all pushups are done), and lat pulls, bent barbell rows and machine rows (in place of back flyes, locomotives and as an add on during legs & back day).

Just have to move fast between sets. It gives me the weights I need to lift with the speed/intensity of P90X. Best of both worlds. I still do most of the workouts as prescribed but some of those movements are pussy/worthless exercises, imo.

it is a home workout, so you can only do so much with what ya got. I am enjoying insanity, though i wish it were longer. So far i found pure cardio the hardest since there aren't any breaks.

I've always had this thing about benching first or early in a workout, I'd rather fail on the 40th pushup than the 10 rep in benching for safety reasons.

I wonder if it matters what direction you wrist are facing for this. Could I put two dumbbells together with my thumbs facing the top of my head as opposed to facing each other with a bar? </SPAN></SPAN>

Going to start another round of P90x tomorrow (today?)... Haven't done a P90x workout since last summer, looking forward to getting back into it.

I downloaded the P90X app to help me keep track of my nutrition as well, because I suck at it. Always the hardest part for me. At least this way I can keep track of my measurements and daily servings/calorie intake.

Well in 6 weeks I've seen great improvements in my body and overall physical/mental appearance with the Leangains approach. My dead lift has gone from 235 x3 to 300 x4, my back squats have went from 225 x3 to 275 x3, and my bench press has gone from 120 x2 to 150 x4. I also could barely do pull ups or chin ups when I started, I can now do 14 chin ups and 10 pull ups.

This is definitely the way to go if you are looking to drop body fat and pack on muscle. I've lost about 4 pounds but have gained so much muscle in the process and lost a good percentage of body fat.

The P90X nutrition is awful. I guarantee if you post your goals on here you could get better nutritional advice :)

True story. I'm ripping up faster eating the way we eat and I don't need all of the excess carbs. Still have loads of energy without the rumbling gut. :D

I got about 3 weeks until I start. Not sure whether or not I'm looking forward to it! Is there anything I need to do to get my body prepared? Cardio-wise, I will be refereeing 5 games this week, 5 games next week, 2 the following, and one the following after that. In each game, I average about 2 miles.

You might want to do a "prep" week for this by going through the dvd's kind of "half assed" so you become familiar with the moves and know the dvd's. I did this my first round and it helped. Not because it got me in the cardiovascular condition that I needed to be in but it kept me from fumbling in between exercises so I wasn't rushed when the real 90 days began.

Every 4. You'll do 3 weeks of the same workout then you get a "recovery week." Then the workout switches up (different bodypart parings) for the next 3 weeks followed by another recovery week. Then you do week 1's workout followed by week 5's workout followed by week 1's workout and finish with week 5's.

Anyone have any foot or back pain from all the jumping in Insanity? I do it on a concrete floor in the garage so i'm guessing that's the reason. Any suggestions? Should i get a cheap carpet or mat to put down?

See if there's a local high school looking to sell a piece of wrestling may on the cheap. Perfect for the high impact of Insanity.

Yeah, I jump on a mat about 1/2 inch thick. No foot problems.
