A friend of mine told me about this the other day. I've never heard of it, but having been without a car for a little over a year I thought that I should at least look into it. I do rent vehicles on occasion, and use Zip Cars about once every two months, but I never thought I'd actually need to buy more car insurance. Whenever I do rent, I do opt for the insurance or use my credit card that has insurance on it.

Has anyone ever had it, or used it?

I don't know....assume it comes down to economics on whether you're rent enough to have your own policy or purchase the rider.

Also, what are you doing for liability insurance? You're credit card is most likely not providing sufficient legal liability and property damage - you'll bankrupt yourself if you swerve to avoid a dog and drive thru a storefront.
