I rented a vehicle for a week-long family vacation. After the hold initially being placed on my credit card, I noticed after several days that it had dropped off. I returned the car when I got back, expecting to see the charge processed on the card in the next day or so. However, it's been almost a week and the charge is still no where to be seen. Not that I'm complaining about saving $450, but I'm just curious if anyone has experienced this before and if I should expect to see the charge on the card in the near future.

Typically rental car companies put a ~$200 charge to your card right away regardless of what your final renting price is. If there's nothing on your card, I would say you just got a free rental.

You'll get charged. Happened to me with a hotel once. Same thing, they put the hold on my card when I checked in and like 10 days after checkout the actual charge showed up.

Happened with me at a hotel once. Don't you worry. They'll always get their money.
