Ok I am making this post mostly out of anger.

I think that the animals death was unfortunate and likely an accident but these left wing nutjobs need to get real.

I cannot believe the coverage this is getting and there is no way the government should send him back over there for any type of trial.

The guy who shot the lion followed all the governments licensing procedures and paid a lot for "guides" to do the job of putting him on an animal. He only shot the lion that the guides put him on.

These African countries make $200 million a year on letting rich people come there and shoot animals. Do you really think that these government officials care about that lion? Not one bit. What they are mad about is that they didn't get their pockets greased.

.. the tarffic violation would be broken and you as the driver get fined but if the rental company knowing sent you out in a broken rental car .... Big lawsuit against the rental and even bigger from the government and your ticket would be waved..

Exactly what part of tying a dead animal's carcass to a truck and dragging it around to entice/lure another lion (Cecil) out of it's habitat is "likely an accident"?

gosh a ruddies this guy is slime bag. He had already been caught, fined and put on probation in the United States for doing something similar to a bear. After the kill in Africa he and his accomplices tried to destroy the tracking devise from the animal after he had beheaded and skinned it.

Send him back to face the charges. I'm sure he won't do well in an African prison.

I'm no touchy feely bunny hugger as I grew up hunting & trapping but the way this guy went about getting this animal was bullshit. Most of these stupid "hunts" are just an ego trip hard on for some p#ssy who wants to claim to be a "big game hunter." In some cases, the animal is still caged, the door is opened and the animal is shot. Such a "challenge."

I will never understand trophy hunting. Seems like you'd have to have some serious issues with power/control/inadequacy to be into that sort of thing. Paying $50,000 for permission to kill something is not normal behavior.
