Do you think he'd make the mistake of not being? He's the one who said if it was successful then two sequels were planned--and it's obviously been successful.

Well, I don't know for sure. All I know is what he said--"if Avatar is successful there are two sequels planned". So I would guess that he's doing them and I would guess that the planned sequels will become reality after seeing how this one has done.

Cameron has come out to say that he has an idea for the sequels, he just has to write the script. There is talk that other moons and even the big planet may be explored. There are so many possibilites and I'm quite excited.

Very good movie. I wonder if it's really based on some of the characters we read about on this site. Many act as if they are 9 feet tall, but in real life have only blue balls and no substance at all.

Saw it in IMAX 3D, and if you are going to see this movie at all, you HAVE to see it in 3D in the theatres.

Quite an amazing movie experience, best "experience" movie ever even if the plot was "predictable".

Didn't think I'd like it but my son home from college wanted me to go with him & his girlfriend Christmas night. All I can say is I was blown away...by the 3D technology. Story was a rehash of Dances with Wolves but with enough nuance to make it enjoyable. I'd recommend this movie to anyone for the pure entertainment of it. But see the 3D version.

For the skeptics I got to say, I was one of you and had no interest in seeing the movie after watching the trailer, yet word of mouth and curiosity convinced me, and boy am I glad I checked it out. My only regret is not seeing it on IMAX. The theater we went too was 3D but kinda small, so not the ideal setting for viewing this film.

Saw on Yahoo where the local theater is playing it in 2D and 3D. Why would anyone want to go see it in 2?

When my friend first told me he got my ticket for the 3D showing and that it was $10.25 I almost didn't go lol... but yeah I think it'd be interesting to see it in 2D. It was, as many have said, an incredible spectacle in 3D.

Also my friend has seen this movie 5 times in theatres...... and my other good friend is seeing if for the 3rd time in theatres saturday and he is not a movie person by any means..

Funny - or should I say brilliant - thing about this is because it's all CGI, technically there is little risk of holdout with the actors.

I remember hearing about this with Lord of the Rings. One of the reasons all were filmed before being released was to keep actors from raping the studio if the first film was successful. You still have the issue of voices if actors change, but it's not nearly as hard to pull off.

If this technology ever becomes economical it will cause waves in the acting industry. Your looks won't be worth a damn and it will be far easier to replace you.
