People use their celebrity all the time to make money for themselves and for organizations, some charitable and some not. The real question is anyone even digging into this at all. Isadore is just a mirror image of what used to be trustworthy mainstream newssources.....spinning and promoting outrage over some things, and ignoring and glossing over others. Why the focus on GWB, when the Clinton's have amassed a personal fortune, collecting over $100 MILLION in speaking fees....Bill touring the world while his wife was Sec of State shaking down organizations for as much as $800K a speech!....and he did not give anything back...in fact, those organizations "donated" to PAC Clinton. But the American public is treated to the selective outrage by media actively attempting to manipulate us. Some news organizations are so bad, that they are nothing more than propaganda outlets for the government...resembling more the TASS news agency of the old Soviet Union than a news agency of a free republic. The press is supposed to be a watchdog, not a fox in the henhouse.

Yeah, you can walk away and shake your head at the stupidity of it, but that would be cooperating with it. It would be one thing if Isadore was just a crazy lone wolf howling at the moon in the wilderness, but you get on social media and you see people actually buying it.

Thank you.

gosh a ruddies it is hardly a surprise that on the political forum any criticism of a Republicans would bring out a pack of baying hounds raving about Obama and the Clintons. This place is basically a circle jerk for tea party and business conservative Republicans. Speaking fees is subject that should certainly draw justifiable debate. Democrats and Republican Presidents have collected them. It is one reason why you have to go all the way back to Harry Truman to find a President who did not die a millionaire. GWB and this charity though is a very specific issue. It is not just what these guys should charge or even whether they should give charities a break. George Bush was Commander in Chief of the American Armed Forces. He ordered men and women into combat. Thousands of them were seriously injured. He owes them. He should not be making money off their suffering and needs.

Bush sent that man into harm's way. He should not be making money off his suffering and need. A commander is responsible for his men and women.

Bush fired the shots that hurt him? No he didn't. He chose to join, he got the unfortunate consequence.

He put them there, He chose the war. He chose the strategy, He picked the leaders. He was their Commander. He has a responsibility. He should not make money offer their suffering and need.

The men he sent also chose to join the service. They knew their responsibility. Quit being a liberal hippie and think logically.

No, no he doesn't. He has made them millions. Accepting a fee to speak there is a contract that they accepted. Both parties agreed. Both parties got what they wanted.

No he took advantage of their need to profit at their expense. And the $100,000 charge was within the normal range of his speaking fees.

I'm sure when Obama leaves office he will charge no speaking fee to veterans.

Maybe Obama should have drove him there for free. It seems like you are only capable of criticizing Bush but never hold Obama accountable for his lack of inaction.

gosh a ruddies on this forum criticism of a Republican is rare and compliments for our First African American President non-existent. But we do have
you. a funny guy, completely challenged by the English language. Should we hold Obama responsible for "his lack of inaction?"

I don't think anyone on here likes Bush but he's not the current President and has zero power. I'm not interested as to why you don't hold Obama, the actual President in power, accountable for not donating his entire net worth to veterans. Why should Obama be allowed to eat when veterans are out there suffering?

Would you sign a petition requesting Obama to donate $10M of his money to help veterans? Why not donate some yourself since you seem so interested in helping them?

gosh a ruddies you are being so very disingenuous. When I mentioned Bush the political forum regulars rose in mass to his defense, including yourself. And then to claim any Bush has no power is ridiculous. They have 2 Presidents and the number one in Republican Presidential poll.

I would just like Obama to show that he appreciates veterans by donating his entire net worth to help them. Since he has not done so, I wonder why Obama does not care about soldiers and why you only hold Bush accountable and not Obama?

gosh a ruddies the subject of this discussion was an example of Bush betraying the service people he sent into combat, why not discuss the subject of the thread and then begin a thread to discuss your topic.

of course you think only terms of dollars and cents instead of the sacrifice these service people made and his duty toward them. Well in terms of dollars and cents he could have given the speech for free and that would have left another $120,000 for these service people. He was the commander, it is the least he could have done for those seriously injured and handicapped from carrying out his commands.
