My spinach did not like the rain and is now on the yellow side. My corn is a little yellow too. Everything else weathered all the rain pretty well.

I also have plenty of weeds.

This season has taught me a lot of things I will practice in the future. I tried a few different things to prevent weeds and keep the garden as organic as possible. I am going to put in more raised beds. I will put in better drainage and watering systems. I was told I had to take the barrels down from my gutters since in our township we are not allowed to catch our rain water on our own property. So will be putting in an underground rain collection system in the future as well. Already have a cistern so should be pretty easy to tie back into it.

I'm just starting to get flowers on my cucumbers. My sunflower plants seems to be growing quite well.

Lessons learned - no problem planting radishes & carrots together, but NO NEED to sow them like salt over potatoes. One seed apiece per inch is PLENTY!!!!! Way to much thinning.

Yeah..tons of weeds myself. Corn is chest high and I put it in after mothers day so it is doing well.
Tried something new with the tomato and pepper plants with a makeshift watering system and wow have they popped.

Was gone a few days and I think the weeds noticed that and grew like, well, weeds while i was gone.

Been eating my Early Girls Tomatoes, radishes and snow peas now for the past week, Amish Paste and Big Boys looking really great another two weeks they will be ready to eat (will pick a few early for fried green tomatoes).
Chard, Lettuce and Spinach ready for the picking also.
Cucumber are about 4 inches long, had to replant my green beans (pillow bugs ate the seedling) so nothing yet, Zuc and Melons just have flowers but in the morning I've been taking a Q tip and helping pollinating them. Corn knee high already, sun flower 4 foot tall, huge broccoli and brussell spouts so they looking good. Beets are OK I'm little concerned, Green peppers are wonderful looks to be a great year for green peppers, my small sweet peppers are Ok … Banana Peppers so so with more summer sun they should get better..

Should be a good year for canning and freezing

Antifreeze didn't work and the garden died, so now I'm stuck with going to Kroger like a normal person

we have had a lot of rain, my above ground garden drain good so flooding or standing water not a problem. Mold can cause brown patches on some plants, tomatoes, vine type plants.and will spread quickly..early this year as my plants where coming up I used a product called Copper powder. I liked it because it was in a powder , easy to apply. I'm not seeing the mold this year at all in my garden. There is a spray you can get for the mold..... Or you can stray your plants with dish water soap that helps.

This rain is killing my garden. I have so much I need to get done. Tie up my cucumbers and tomatoes, getting my third planting of onions out, and a ton of weeding. Uggg This rain is bull shit

More more more rain right now. My garden has been fine but this may put it over the edge.

My tomator plant is shoulder high right now....never had one this tall before. Wonder if it had anything to do with the watering system thing I tried with it this spring.

Best thing to use to tie up our tomatoes plants ( any plants) is your wife old hose..... cut them in strips they let the plants still grow without harm to the stems

I keep waiting for all this rain to put MY garden over the edge, too, thevoice.

I wonder how many guys on here have their wife's old hose around?

Trashy ... or creative thinking, anotheradvantage is that deer and other animal stay away because of the smell of human on the hose. Women rip their hose all the time, just tell her to put them in a shoe box and when summer come you have a great plants tie. I have used tomatoe cage in the past but I found that, they may not be the best for your tomatoe plants to produce ... I use my tomatoe cage now for my snow pea to cline to, I put them side by side and it make a trellis type.

I do not use cages or stakes for my tomatoes. I take to posts and stretch two lines between them. Then tie my tomato plants to the lines it works great and have good harvest every year.
