I am not saying this is his fault, but when does he get fired?

He already was named an ASG coach and will that have any bearing?

After that, Price will probably get axed and the fire sale will begin. I originally thought that just Chapman would have been traded. I'm guessing now that they will move just about any and everyone they can by the deadline and start over again.

The thing that confuses me most about Price is that he was considered by a lot of people to be a really good pitching coach, but as manager, he seems to flat-out suck at managing a staff.

It seems that young guys have been holding inconsistent roles with a couple doing the bounce between starter and reliever, while an old retread who's generally sucked (Marquis) is starting.

Chapman went a week between appearances (even if you're a closer on a slumping team, you'd think you'd at least get some semblance of regular work, so that when you're actually needed, you are ready) and Cingrani seems to also go long periods without getting used due to not seeming to have any sort of actual defined role...while guys like Gregg, Badenhop and Diaz are/were constantly being used in high leverage situations regardless of how many times they were shelled.

I mean, when you can't even get shit done properly in the area of the game that one would say was your specialty, what hope do you have with your philosophy in other areas (ie: constantly shifting the line-up around, hoping you find a batting-order-combination that will reap dividends.

Such a disappointing run this team had. Should of at the very least made it to 1 NLCS but instead they crumbled under pressure every chance they got.

Part of it I have to wonder is what he actually had control over with Gregg, Badenhop and Cingrani. Team looks to have been correct about LeClure. He started well at AAA but seems to have been struggling.
Did he decide to start Cingrani as the long man and Gregg/Badenhop a more prominant role later in games? That I dont know.
Diaz kind of half way earned his spot later in games by how he did last year.

I am ready to put the young guys in the rotation and see how it goes. Marquis shouldnt get any more starts. He reminds of the shitbags this team rolled out in the rotation about 10 years ago or so.

Going into the season I wasnt really thrilled at what was going to happen. Sadly many of us saw this coming and soon I think the attendance will take a Cleveland Indian-esque fall.

The BIlly Hamilton experiment in the leadoff worked, kinda, for early last season but since then he has stunk. This team just...isnt...very...good.

Cueto is having an MRI on his elbow today. Saw earlier that he is optimistic that it's just fatigue. Our luck will be that he needs TJ.

Lose him for a year AND not get squat outta him in a trade. Hate to lose a bona fide ace like him but they will not be able to afford him. The best chance this franchise gets turned around is if they can unload him for some fantastic propects that pan out.

Price has been indefensible....but do has Jocketty. I feel like he is Facetiming Larussa about 3x a week and laughing.

Cueto having TJS might allow the Reds to sign him. Lets be real. This team needs to make about half-a-dozen trades and revamp half the roster. They aren't contending until 2017 (at the earliest), and that's with some quality moves.

Bruce, Phillips, Leake, Chapman, Byrd, Cueto, Cozart are all potentially gone by year's end.

That is how I see your list. I dont think many teams will line up to get Phillips with what he is still owed. Cueto is gone and I would think Chapman is as well, but for whatever reason I think the reds are just in love with him and wont part. C

I don't see us trading Bruce. Is he even worth anything right now??

I see everyone but Votto, Frazier, and our young arms as trade possibilities.

Bruce is starting to heat up. He usually starts slow and last year it stuck with him all season.
I think they can keep Leake. I dont think he will command much on the FA market. He makes around 10 this year. I just dont see many teams lining up to throw big bucks at him.
Cozart signed for cheap coming off some light hitting seasons. Again, I dont think he commands much either and if he can hit some I think he sticks around.

Heard a good point the other day. Hamilton hit like 260 in the minors. What makes us think he will IMPROVE on that while learning to switch hit? Ya cant steal first and right now he couldnt find first base with a garmin.

Hamilton is 5th on the team in hits, and 2nd on the team in runs. Can't really ask for much more out of a young guy that isn't known for a huge bat.

If the other players were hitting well that would be a nice stat. But the other players fucking suck so those aren't impressive to me.

I conceded that nobody is hitting.

And who knows, maybe if everyone were hitting it would help to elevate Hamilton's game, too. Point being, it's hard to pick on the guy that has scored the 2nd highest amount of runs for the shitty team.

I'm not hating on Hamilton but he hasn't been good at the plate. Offensively, he's been fine because of his speed. But at the plate he's been bad. Being the fifth best or second best on a garbage team isn't that impressive.

I agree. The team as a whole isnt hitting. Thing is they annointed Hamilton as their leadoff guy before he even came to the big club when he wasnt even very impressive as a hitter in the minors. He is electric on the bases, plays a great CF, but unless the team surrounds him with a ton of hitting he needs to produce at the plate.

This season is still going on? I stopped caring.
