So an off duty cop fires a gun over his shoulder into a group of black guys. He's charged with involuntary manslaughter instead of murder.
Judge rules it's not involuntary manslaughter, but murder, and case is dismissed.
Cop can't be charged again b/c of Double Jeopardy lol

He was already charged for a crime.

You cant be charged again for the same incident after it goes to trial.

they can sue him for wrongful death... he can't go to jail for it.

They were thinking "I am a prosecutor and I have an inherent conflict of interest when bringing charges against the cops because my career depends on their cooperation and trust."

JMHO but states need to consider bringing back private prosecution associations of the old common law when it comes to prosecuting alleged criminal conduct on the part of government officials, etc. (or something along those lines). I have friends who are cops and friends who are prosecutors but the fact is they have inherent conflicts of interest (IMHO).

No we've reached a point in society where poor people and minorities finally have a voice to the masses thru social media and other outlets. Before we could shut them up pretty easily; keep them out of sight/out of mind. People are taking notice now. It kills a lot of people that they have to listen to poor people now.
