Man, and I thought that Detroit team was all the rage after the way they've been being talked up recently.

And no, I was most definitely not nervous at all when Melancon gave up three runs and a single before starting to get outs in the ninth. Not at all. Nope.

Just goes to show that managers shouldn't let their top guys get rusty, but without any save opportunities previously, there wasn't much need for him, other than to keep things going late against the Reds a couple times in close/tie games.

Got my All-Star game tickets this morning. Hopefully the bleacher seats will pay off in the derby.

GABP is probably the best park in the league for a derby. I remember going back in '05, if it wasn't for Bobby Abreu going off that would have been one of the worst derby's ever because of the size of CoPa

Was that before or after they moved in the LF fences?

The Mariners are actually a good 3-5 team. Pitching hasn't settled in yet. Bats are looking alright. They have a low BABIP which will rise(averages says it has to) which means OBP and AVG will rise.

After but they only moved in left center, not down the line. It's 345 down the 3rd base line, 370 to left center and 420 to center while GABP is 328,379,404

Been a weird start for sure. Miami and Washington are both 2-6, Cleveland is 2-5 and Pittsburgh is 3-5, all teams that were supposed to be among the best. And what the heck is going on with Ian Desmond, 6 errors thru 8 games?

I thought that most of left field and left center was moved in. Basically just put the BP there is what they did, as you know.
Only been there once....reds game the weekend after teh All star break and recall Chris Stynes hitting it high t of the LC field wall and it was well over 400 I would like to say..insane.

That's why I never really understood when they got Prince Fielder and had a big hitting slow team. Comerica is massive and you need a team with great defense, speed and contact to succeed in that park. That's why I actually have some big hopes for Detroit this season, they may have lost Scherzer, Fister and Porcello but they have an awesome defense

Arod has got to be back on some kind of undetectable juice again as he is hitting like a 25 year old version on himself right now.

Is Arod finding a way to juice? He looks damn good early on. 2 HR and also GW hit yesterday. One hr went 477 ft.

He's only 20 RBI away from 2,000.....I've never seen a player get to that number. Should get to 3,000 hits by ASB

Pirates need to find a way to play the Brewers more often. 5-1 against them, 1-5 against two other teams.

And it's weird that I've typed this, as in most years, the Brewers have simply owned them. I guess that's what happens when a couple guys decline and all your good pitching mysteriously vanishes off the planet.

This team has been incredibly entertaining in the early season to watch. Hopefully this fun season keeps going great

I dont think so. He was a very, very talented player before and there is no reason to believe all that talent went away.
Will see though how his body reacts once the season is rolling along, long road trips, hot weather and the dogs days of summer. That is where his body may start to really start to show his age without being able to really take anything.

Tigers being tigers. Come October they'll choke a series and go home empty handed (unless you're classy and count AL Central titles as hardware).

Nothing to see here.

They won a pennant too. But yeah have to imagine they only have about 2-3 years left on that WS window

It's AAA baseball but the Mud Hens and Bats are playing tonight in Toledo with the wind blowing straight out at 30-45 mph. Game is going the way you would expect, 10-5 Toledo in the Bottom of the 4th. I think first one to 20 might win tonight
