Yep. Have heard that from quite a few Pittsburgh fans. Not happy about getting away from "Steeler football" (i.e. poor rushing attack/pass happy offense).pkebker wrote:Not a lie. You'd think you'd be listening to Pittsburgh radio.
And watch how this works.
I was watching Pittsburgh TV and some Squeeler fan was calling for sweeping change among the entire front office and coaching staff HA HA HA luv it LOL!!!!!!1111One!!!!111
And if there are any Browns' fans looking to throw Holmgren under the bus it's because their "lady" Brady got sent packing, they are pissed, and they won't have anyones nuts to ride anymore.

NORMAN, Okla. — Sam Bradford’s workout Monday in front of representatives for all 32 NFL teams at Oklahoma’s pro day almost left me speechless. And that’s saying something.
Bradford threw more than 100 passes during the workout and, in my estimation, didn’t have one that was uncatchable. He moved around well, including throwing on the run out of the pocket, and went through the entire route tree.
It really was a treat to watch, and I think everyone here was in awe of Bradford’s performance. In fact, he put on the best quarterback workout by a draft prospect that I’ve seen since I watched a private workout Troy Aikman put on for us with the Cowboys in California.
If Bradford is feeling the effects of his shoulder injury or is experiencing any weakness, there were no indications of that. He threw with velocity during the entire workout.
Terry Shea, a former college and NFL coach who’s working with Bradford as a quarterback consultant, told me they’ve been together for nine weeks. The first five weeks of workouts, Bradford didn’t even throw. They only worked on footwork because Bradford hadn’t been cleared by doctors yet.
I would imagine that two weeks from now, Bradford’s arm will be even stronger than what we saw. And it was very strong Monday.

So is there a concensus among scouts in general that Bradford has emerged as the pick of the litter?
I would suspect a lot of smokescreening to follow him around if so.

I'm starting to warm up to the idea of the Browns making a move to get Bradford. His shoulder worries me but if healthy I think he has a chance to be a top 5 QB in the NFL in a few years

Fix as much as you can with the picks you've got (in a deep draft) and pick a QB in the second round or later who can be a project.

Heard snippets about this on ESPN radio today. Maybe the Rams do take Bradford. But if I'm Holgren, I will do whatever it takes to get this guy.BR1986FB wrote: NORMAN, Okla. — Sam Bradford’s workout Monday in front of representatives for all 32 NFL teams at Oklahoma’s pro day almost left me speechless. Can't win in the NFL without a good quarterback. If that means swapping #1's and adding in a couple of 2's. I would do it.
Christopher Columbus took a chance.

I agree that it is a deep draft and a lot of value can be had from rounds 2-5. However feel that it is not a deep draft for QBs at all. I think next years QB class isn't much better. Which is why I wouldn't be opposed to a move to get Bradford.Writerbuckeye wrote:No thanks. Bradford? Look, you could throw freaking Peyton Manning on the Browns right now and they'd still suck. The defense is junk, the skill players are junk(except Cribbs, but he's a ST), and we have 1 good prospect on the OL.

Those fans are morons. The Steelers didn't win these last 2 Super Bowls with a smash mouth offense. They've been gravitating towards becoming a pass-first team for a while now.....even under Cowher. The "3 yards and a cloud of dust" philosophy didn't get it done for them for years (although I do enjoy that style of play). The passing attack and being unpredictable got it done. And that is pretty much league-wide. "Getting back to their roots" would be giving up far too quickly on an offense that has been successful for them....not just stats-wise....but successful meaning championships. Sure, I'd like them to be able to run it more effectively, but I don't want them becoming one-dimensional again.BR1986FB wrote:Yep. Have heard that from quite a few Pittsburgh fans. Bullshit! I love when people give the old "you could put Peyton Manning on the Browns and they'd suck" line. Austin Collie & Pierre Garcon are FAR from elite receivers yet Manning MAKES them play at a higher level. The elite QB's will get the most out of their weapons by pushing them to a higher level to get better or tell them to GTFO. Peyton Manning on last years Browns equals 8-8/9-7.sleeper wrote: Bradford? I think that Bradford is head & shoulders above every QB in this draft and COULD be the next Peyton Manning. The issue is that we'd have to give up a "Ditka-like" deal to get him. Especially since the Rams and the rest of the league have a major hard on for him after today. Not willing to part with, likely, two 1sts, two 2nd's and more for him.

Disagree, The asking price is going to be WAY to steep. He will probably be good, but too much of a risk for injury for the price they(Rams) and he(Bradford) will be asking for.SportsAndLady wrote: Get Bradford.

I would be willing to swap our 7th overall pick in the draft and our #2's...both of them.BR1986FB wrote: I think that Bradford is head & shoulders above every QB in this draft and COULD be the next Peyton Manning. But no more. One can't say he'll be the next Peyton. I think these 3 draft choices might be enough.

Browns o-line was actually really good the last 4 weeks of the season. I think they ended up as the 8th best rushing team in the league.sleeper wrote:I think I've heard this before, how did Brady Quinn work out?buckeyes_woowee wrote:Bradford wouldn't start for 2 or 3 years. plenty of time to fix some pieces.sleeper wrote: Bradford? A 1st, and 2 2nd's is too much to use to move up and get Bradford. The Browns are not like the Jets who were able to move up and risk the picks because they had a stout team already, just needed the QB.Footwedge wrote:I would be willing to swap our 7th overall pick in the draft and our #2's...both of them.BR1986FB wrote: I think that Bradford is head & shoulders above every QB in this draft and COULD be the next Peyton Manning. The Browns need to much, to give up all those selections, (it would cost more than what you've outlined to get him) when they'd be better served using the selections to improve the overall talent of the team, and next year if they Identify a QB that they'd be interested in, they could possibly deal some picks for him, as next year looks to be a pretty weak draft compared to this one. This is one of the deepest drafts in recent history, and with the Browns needing a lot of help, I can't see sending off the picks for a QB, no matter who it is.

I agree with you, on both parts of this. They need a legit #1 WR, and the OLine was pretty good last year, should be even better this season.Footwedge wrote:Browns o-line was actually really good the last 4 weeks of the season. I'm not going to go look up all the stats, but I watched the last 4 games and the reason we had so many rushing yards was directly related to the fact that we ran the ball ALL THE TIME. I'd be the ypc wasn't all that great either, but if someone wants to prove me wrong, well hey, props to you.Footwedge wrote:Browns o-line was actually really good the last 4 weeks of the season.
