Stanton looked solid in relief for the Pats last year no doubt... but I think you could draft a QB with as much potential as him, Stanton or a drafted QB = rebuilding season. I would bite depending on what they wanted.

I would be fine picking up Thomas Jones on a one or two year deal, with the understanding that Harrison will be the starter and Jones will spell him. If Jones wouldn't agree to do this, then I wouldn't sign him. Harrison, Jones, J. Davis, and Vickers could be a pretty good backfield.

Quinn has a very friend contract because they (Mangini) messed with his playing time last year.

This makes him appealing as a backup and he could be traded for whatever his value might be.

Stanton plays for the Lions. The reason he is likely expendable is because of Stafford.

Nevermind I was thinking of the other MSU QB Hoyer who I like. I would not want Stanton I would rather draft someone.

The only way I would want Stanton is for basically free. Would never give up more than a 7th rounder for him.

The Williams trade was a salary dump, going to be interesting to see how the roster fills out with him gone now.

Browns have reached out to the agents of WR-Kevin Walter and S-Ryan Clark.

That would be a solid pick up. I liked the way he played this season.

Here's the latest and greatest. In the past 12 hours the Browns have talked to Philly & Seattle regarding QB's & WR's.

They have talked to the reps of Walter, Bannan, Chad Pennington & Clark from Pittsburgh.

Browns are interested in Rob Sims as well.

Harrison & Shaun Rogers are available for trade.

McNabb is a real option right now and although it's a pipe dream and hold on to your ass, Brandon Marshall may be in play. We have had continued discussions with Denver since the Combine.

I think we may get Sims and as I said the only thing holding up a McNabb deal is Andy Reid.

Rob Sims would be a great addition and I think Chad Pennington is just what we need in the short term. Thanks for the news as always BR.

I'm telling ya, Holmgren/Heckert aren't "process" guys like Mangini. They want to win NOW and realize that WON'T happen with Quinn or DA leading this team. He's looking to get deals done with Walter & Bannan ASAP.

Whether all or some of this stuff happens, who knows, but I just got the info minutes ago so, have faith, we aren't sitting on our hands. They are working the phones and hope to have McNabb in Brown & Orange by Monday if Andy Reid is agreeable. Time will tell.

Will the 1st rounder be included with McNabb?

If its including the 1st then I'll pass.

In our division you need a defense to win, and there are too many great defensive players available early in the draft to pass up on.

I heard that McNabb wasn't an option in Cleveland. It would be a great addition we got him though...I'm starting to get excited.

McNabb would foot the bill nicely, though I agree not at a high cost, certainly a better option than Seneca fuckin' Wallace, or Stanton. I think Stanton has the tools to be a decent QB but he certainly lacks in the experience department.

If they can address that defense through the draft and add McNabb and Marshall....I would be sportin wood for weeks.

Reid and McNabb have been through a lot together in Philly. Not really surprised he's reluctant to let him go, though I don't think McNabb does much for Philly in terms of reaching the big show. Kolb is the heir apparent and should probably get the nod for them imo.

Per RealGM.com....

Jeff Ridson from RealGM reporting:

"Just heard the Browns are pondering an offer for Brady Quinn. 3rd rounder this year and a conditional 2011 pick to send Quinn to be a backup/eventual starter. Not sure if I'd do it if I was either team."
