"(she never bought gas nor has she ever pumped gas)"
Ha ha, Belly, same with my wife!
And I don't mind a bit!
We have a 2004 Civic 2-door which has been a great little work horse car for our family.

We hold onto it for a time and then give it away to one of my daughters maybe or grandkids getting ready to drive, save it for when they go to college ... no real plans as of yet...superman;1703304 wrote:What are you doing with the Accord?

Maybe a few times with adults, mostly the grand kids... but the fact that she can just throw her shopping bags in the back seat ..Uz2Bon36;1703309 wrote:Why a sedan? How often does she really have back seat passengers?

Honda has an eco button that resets the transmission for less power/more fuel efficient driving. I have an Accord EX-L and I use it exclusively. I feel even with the 4 cyl on 'eco' I still have all the pep I need...get 38 MPG on highway and 32 overall.FatHobbit;1703303 wrote:I thought ecoboost was a ford thing?
You should check out Subaru imprezas. They are about this size, get 28/37 and are awd.
I agree with you, that she should look at the Subarus if she hasn't done so. Not as good gas mileage because of the AWD...but it is the best AWD in the business. I like the security of knowing my wife has that in the winter.

Just throwing this out there about the AC but has anyone seen Myth Busters on it. It's actually better to run the AC if your driving over 35 then no have the windows down. I have a couple friends who never use their AC for this reason and it drives me nuts.

Subaru Impreza. Same size as Focus and Civic. Comes in either hatch or sedan. 37MPG with standard all wheel drive. The others can't give you that. Or if she likes the size of the Accord go with the Subaru Legacy. Subaru just received KBB's Highest Resale Brand award. Send me a PM.

Call me crazy but I'd rather have a 2-seater and a trunk. A sedan which will majority of the time never use the back seat (except for shopping bags) seems silly.Belly35;1703369 wrote:Maybe a few times with adults, mostly the grand kids... but the fact that she can just throw her shopping bags in the back seat ..
"This is just a work car and something she would enjoy driving everyday, take on short trips, shopping in..."
Get her a Miata.

My wife just got a 2015 Buick LaCrosse. Awesome car. Unfortunitly I had to move my Explorer outside but her LaCrosse looks pretty good next to my Z06 in the garage. Go test drive the LaCrosse, you will never even think about a shitbox honda again. Good luck Belly.

My wife is doing this too. Range rover discovery or Lexus NX.
I'm a terrible car person. I wish she would just pick herself and leave me out of it. Lol.

He already said she's not going to buy a standard, so no point in getting a Scoob. So if shes's definitely getting an automatic, then Subaru is in the same boring category as Honda, Toyota, and Ford.oberhaus;1703473 wrote:Subaru Impreza. Same size as Focus and Civic.
