Have to think Browns were used to gain leverage. Typical

Haha Tony Grossi has an article this morning stating that the Browns might not make too many free agent additions in the hopes of compensatory picks. He has gone full retard.

Not that he's a top tier corner but I'll be a little disappointed if they let Skrine walk in FA. He seems to have improved over the last couple of years and, unless they have someone up their sleeve in FA, they really have no legit replacement on the roster right now. No confidence at all in handing that position to Gilbert.

No shock there. It's been rumored that it would be his landing destination for awhile. Makes too much sense with O'Brien there and the possibility of starting.

Skrine is going to get paid the kind of money that we will be happy we didn't give him in a year or two. Seeing Gilbert's training videos with Haden I think were going to be ok at CB next year.

Hoyer isn't a big loss. Now if JFF could just quit football forever, I'd be happy.

Witnessing 5 super bowl titles and only rooting for your team when they are good? Man, must be rough...

Because?

Insider said there was zero truth to the Kap getting traded rumor.

As for the browns not getting guys hoping for compensatory picks?? Losing Hoyer wont garner much of one. I think they can upgrade their team with some of the FA's out there. May have to overpay but ya have to start somewhere.

Also interested in Ed Dickson....

Seems like a solid Dansby type signing.

I'm also intrigued by Conley:

I'd spend a 3rd round pick on him.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt since you jerked off to Ben Tate and started talking shit about how he is the best RB on the tram while the Browns were down 21+ to the Titans LOL.

Which already takes a lot of the options off the table. Just because you need to overpay for someone doesn't mean overpaying him is the smart move.

True. The good position they are in though is they are no where near the cap. You dont want to be stupid and such and just throw $$ around. Best to be calculated but with the culture of losing that teh browns have they will need to overpay for someone to come in free agency.

I know it's different because one of the main reasons they got f'ed is that the picks were under the old CBA and therefore the old hugely guaranteed contracts to rookies but the Lions are a good example of why you don't overspend just to spend money. They got themselves in a position where they couldn't realistically hold on to their best player because they were overpaying players at other positions and managed their cap pathetically.

I'd much rather have the Browns only throw their hat in the ring for players that make sense economically once you remove the "have to overpay to get them to come to Cleveland" premium.
