Both. I would never give away multiple picks for an unproven player. It almost always ends in a disaster.

I think it's dumb because Mariota needs a year to sit & learn and you know they will throw him into the fire ASAP having given up that much.

This wasn't addressed to me but I'll answer it anyway. No, the answer is simply no, I do not in any way shape or form thinking Mariota will be worth a damn in the NFL. Trading the picks for him makes it even more ridiculous.

With that said, he is 100x better than Manziel.

Why not try and just flip the pick for something else? And not take MM.

Would shock the shit out of everyone if they took the D-Lineman from USC, who is considered the best player in the draft, instead of Mariota.

Solid point, but if they fully believe he is going to be a great pro QB.......then I think it is worth it. QB would be the only position I would risk it though.

Luck was as much of a sure thing as you can get.
If you do it for a guy like Luck and he endes up sucking, well, then that is the way it goes and I dont think ya get beat up much because it wasnt a stretch.

Mariota...yeah, not nearly a sure thing.

Fuck it, just do it. We need a qb and I'm tired of taking the "next best" bunch of the QB class.

If he sucks he sucks. We can take another QB when we have a high draft pick (if Mariota sucks, we'll have another top 10 pick)

It would be unusual for a team to be just as satisfied with either of two players that were worth two first round draft picks...but I guess it's possible.

I would be inclined to agree. With the new rookie wage scale it wont fuck you as bad as it used to. Ya need a QB in a bad, bad, bad way. A great QB can overcome other deficiencies.

...being a Raider fan I hope the Browns move up to get MM and take him so that Williams from USC isn't there for them to draft and then the Raiders wind up with....IMO...the best defensive player in the draft

If they do it, I'm fine with them taking MM or the dude from USC. I'm fine with whatever Farmer does, unlike last year where I think Pettine picked Gilbert and Haslem picked Manziel...this is all Farmer IMO. Get your guy or guys Farmer.

Pretty much my sentiments.

I don't really think MM will be a world beater and think Winston will be very good. But, just make the deal and get your QB, if they think he is the guy.

Why are people so high on Winston? He makes terrible decisions with the football.

Andrew Luck throws a ton of INTs too. Winston's got the kind of major arm talent that leads a QB to make some questionable throws. Sometimes it's a gem and other times it's a pick.

Sounds like a cop out to use his arm as an excuse. He doesn't read the defense well and makes poor decisions, that's a huge red flag. Some of the interceptions he threw were laughable. Couple that with the maturity issues and he has bust written all over him.

82 TD and 22 INT. His last two seasons was 69/18

Winston was 65/28.

So if you take their last 2 years in college AL threw 4 more TD with 10 less INT's....

I do, but not for Mariota. Besides, I'm hearing if this happens it's just a "chip' to flip him to Philly for Bradford and their 1st since Chipper doesn't have the ammo to get to #2.
