I'm all for drafting a QB as I think that's the best find to franchise QB. Now you can get one in FA but the reality is teams don't let good QBs go so its unlikely to find one there. The problem is, the Browns have tried the strategy of finding the "diamond in the rough" by drafting QBs that 20+ teams passed on, especially teams that needed a franchise QB. My opinion remains, if you are going to draft a QB to be "your guy", then you need the justification that he is indeed worth enough to garner a top 5 pick.

If the Browns have a top 5 pick, there is no question you do everything you can to get Jones.

Use cardale winning 3 games in college to explain why he will dominate in the nfl.

Possibly the latter, if you widen it to include "sign" as well as "draft", as he has referred to many quarterbacks, including a few that are all-pros, as "garbage" or the like.

Please, Manziel won't even be able to beat out whatever after ran backup QB we paid to play along side him. Franchise QBs don't sit on the sidelines and "develop"; they fucking play. Manziel, by being a piece of shit on and off the field has effectively shown how trash he is. He needs to be cut unless the strategy of the Browns is to go 2-14 this year and draft a real QB. Again, Manziel is pure trash and I don't need to be a football expert to know that.

Also, Manziel didn't dominate shit. He never won a conference championship or a National title. Cardale already has all of that after 3 games LOL.

Cardale will likely be a top 1 qb of all time in the NFL. We should just trade our entire roster next season to get him and sign 40 of the leagues best practice squad players. Championship.

The hyperbole is nice, but honestly if the Browns are say picking 4th overall and the team in front of them is likely to draft a QB, I'd trade a 2 1sts and a 2nd to move up and grab him. He's worth it and there's no doubt in my mind Cardale will win a Super Bowl before his time is done.

That's funny because Chip Kelly has said that Mariota will win MULTIPLE Super Bowls before he's done.

Mariota is the next Tebow. He will have marginal at best success and be out of the league before his rookie contract is up. Hmmmm....head coach of an NFL team's opinion over that of an OC message board poster? Guess what I was saying is that you saying Cardale is going to win a SB is less valid than Kelly saying Mariota will win one.

And as far as Kelly "putting his money where is mouth is?" He probably will because there's not a QB on his roster, except Tebow (lol), who fits his scheme. I'm not going to be floored if Mariota winds up in Philly. I still think Sam Bradford will end up a Brown.

You serious? Kelly is just trying to look out for his players and he's not going to say "No, Mariota sucks and will never win anything" which is likely the more truthful answer given how rare it is for a QB to win a Super Bowl. The reality is, if Kelly really thought that, he would spend whatever price it took to get Mariota on his team but clearly he is full of shit. That makes my opinion certainly more valid because I have no bias in the discussion.

If Bradford ends up a Brown, we might as well not even watch NFL football for the duration of his contract because talk about college prospects who are overpaid and are terrible. Bradford is firmly in that category.

I agree that you have to have a good defense and stopping the run is obviously very important but if you can't score points, you're not winning very many games. For someone who hated 'Womangini', he seems to have the exact same philosophy.

Brown's fans would be pissing down their leg to have someone as good as those two. I think they will make a move to try to get a legit QB but going into the season with McCown as their first option is just stupid arrogance. You're not going to be a playoff contender with that schlub.

I would easily take their production, but it's not like those 2 are QBs who win games on their own. Everyone acts like you need a QB to single handed let win your games (Rodgers, Brady, luck, etc) and it's simply not the case. The Browns have the talent for a decent QB to thrive. Hell, even hoyer looked pretty damn serviceable until we lost Mack and our running game.

Flacco is weird..he's not great but he's pretty damn good in the playoffs which is when it counts (if you get there).

Wilson is a stud imo

I would take either of those two qbs in a heartbeat. Flaccos contract though...
