Having a QB really helps, but doesn't mean shit if you can't stop the run. Have a great QB? Saints, Falcons, Chargers did. Sat at home during the playoffs.

Balt, NE, Sea, Pittsapuke, etc.... Stopped the fucking run and played during the playoffs. Can't have a bum behind center and hope to make the playoffs (Buffalo) but stopping the run is bigger necessity to making the playoffs than having an elite QB.

Yeah I mean you can't really think JFF is going to be a viable NFL QB without using his video game numbers from college as part of the reason why.

It's pretty hard to figure out which SEC guys are going to pan out and which aren't. You have total studs crap out in the NFL (Mark Barron, Mo Claiborne) and then have guys fly under the radar before blowing up (Charles Johnson, Justin Houston)

I'm only concerned about the dude's professionalism and that's a debate that can't be resolved anytime soon.
I would never use college stats as my main point(footwedge). I was just saying his skill set, if he gets his mind right and starts the understand the game will make him dangerous.

My whole post was about his professionalism. If he can mature and understand it takes hard work to make it, I think he will make us better.

Disagree on skillset. Not that fast, not that strong, doesn't have a strong arm, short, etc... What skillset are you seeing?

Open the season Jets, Titans, Raiders. Could not ask for anything easier.

And then the rest of the schedule is brutal.

No such thing as "easy" for these guys but definitely winnable games.

Also a MNF meeting with the Rats and Thursday with the Bengals...

I can't believe the Browns got a home MNF game.

Browns realistically, barring a complete abortion at QB, could be 4-0 to start the year.

Seattle is a loss no matter where it's played. San Fran is a win imo. I think they completely suck this year. Arizona at home helps a little.

The last time we said that was 4 years ago when we had the NFC West. We all know how that turned out lol.

If we start the season 0-4 or 1-3 we will be picking first in the '16 draft lol

Yes we would. If we do, I hope they keep Pettine, and not start over, again. Continuity will be the only way we can build a winner here.

One thing I've noticed, and it's actually kind of refreshing, is that with the Cavs being relevant, there's not the usual buzz/hoopla for the NFL Draft in Cleveland.

I think the Browns go 8-8 at worst next year; realistically could win 10 games provided Manziel never plays a snap. If Manziel plays any more than 0 snaps, might as well call up Cardale and say "We are drafting you".

I see them starting 3-0 with that start. After that...you never know what confidence can do for a team.

Manziel is awful and is the worst first round pick in a decade but cardale jones is it savior

I know you're not saying it but I'd like to see more than a game in a half from Manziel and three games from Cardale before I label one a bust and the other a HOFer.

Browns logic is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Tried the strategy with Quinn and Weeden and somehow think Manziel will be any different. It's insanity.

They are so desperate for a QB that they are going to keep going after them until they get a good one. That's why I'm cringing at these "trade both 1st's to move up for Mariota" rumors floating around. I know they are rumors and it's "silly season" but selling the farm for Mariota would be a mistake, imo. A) he'd be a very high draft pick who they invested a lot in so the temptatiion would be to throw him in the mix and b) I think he's a year away from being even close to ready to start unless it's in Chip Kelly's system.

It seems like they've always "missed it by THAT much" as far as the franchise QB is concerned. They either get some meaningless late season wins that takes them out of contention for a blue chip QB or there are none available that year.

Taking Mariota would be a mistake period.

None of those three have the same skill set or do you mean they should never draft a QB?

Yeah so let's draft a QB based off of 3 college games, that should settle or problem.

Well by the time Jones enters the draft he will be like 17-18 and zero and won two titles.
