For fucks sake. This is the NFL. Pryor isn't playing QB in the NFL. You have to actually be good. And can't get by on athleticism alone.

Move on

Benjamin improving his case to make the roster, which I'm not sure I like.

So why am I a dumbass ass? I have been a Cleveland fan since I was born... We have 1 playoff appearance once every ten years. I know we won championship s before the superbowl was introduced..Since then we are only remembered for things like the byner fumble, the drive, and Bernie Kosar.. Yet I'm called a dumbass for stating facts..

All I know is this....if McCown wants to take hits like those all season, he won't be on the field more than 5 games this season. I was NOT that impressed with him. He made throws to the sidelines that were impressive....he showed a lot of heart...but then again so did Hoyer, who by the way, just won ANOTHER starting job in the NFL with the Texans. I'm not saying by ANY means Hoyer was the savior, but if he didn't have the media blitz and organizational pressures of a certain Heisman winning QB down his back, may have been able to bounce back and play well again. He was 3-0 vs Cincinnati, we were IN a playoff hunt, and we decide to pull the rug out from under him THEN? In turn all I'm saying is McCown will play until he gets broken.....Manziel will come in and either stink the joint up or play well....and this next off season my 37 year commitment to the Browns once again will be at square 1 with the quarterback position. For Christs Sakes, Bernie got so drunk in the 1st half this pre season game, he couldn't even make the halftime show! (which isn't a shocker)

Are we actually going to argue McClown vs Hoyer? They both suck. Neither QB can perform if they don't have a running game, it is that simple. Just look at McCown and Hoyers stats with/without a play action. It is pretty damn telling. They are one in the same, but the big difference is McCown is willing to mentor JFF at least and no create any divisiveness. If you think having Hoyer is the difference between us making/missing the playoffs, you're delusional. I am willing to bet Mallet takes over the starting spot at some point this season.

Unless the "one" is Footwedge, in which case Pryor is still the greatest wide receiver in the history of the game, despite not having actually played any game time at that position.

Feel bad for Pryor. He makes a decision that not a lot of people in the ego-driven NFL would make (change positions because you aren't good at the one youve played your whole life), and a team gives you the chance to do that, but you can't get healthy. The Browns have no choice but to cut him.

I think he still has a shot. They didn't play him yesterday I read bc of the turf. If he plays game 4 and plays well o see him making the team

Why would they cut him? He wanted to play but they held him out of the game.

Duke Johnson has a concussion. Nice to know our rookie RB is already injury prone.

Durability was not his strong suit at Miami, either.

I don't think Pryor gets cut. Not too many 6' 4" receivers on this team.

You think they're gonna keep someone who just started the position and hasn't played in any exhibition games or much practices? Over other WRs they've spent draft picks and money on?

Yes. I think that the need for 5'8" receivers is limited.

I'm thinking Pryor has made the team for a few weeks. They know what they have and aren't rushing him back.

I thought them holding him out last night was the sure sign he's made the team. He wanted to play. They didn't want him to aggravate his injury. They're not gonna be good anyway, I think you keep him and try to see what he can do

It wasn't even a rant about McCown vs Hoyer, it was WAY deeper than that. I said myself that Hoyer was NOT the savior, we all know that. He did though have a winning record as a starting QB, numbers unfortunately do not lie, but the fact I watched him shit down his leg a few times last season didn't lie either. All I was trying to get across is that we desperately need to find a bell cow at the QB position. I honestly think we have a very nice young team building up there on the lake, but the primary cog missing is consistency at quarterback. Hoyer could only get us "so far" so to say. We need to actively look for the person who will get us farther, develop them with patience and coaching, not a baptism by fire, and stick by them. (on a side not I think it is going to be hilarious watching a 5'8 QB throw to multiple 5'8 receivers at some point this season, it will be like the circus came to town.)
