Maybe if your boy would have studied the playbook instead of getting in drunken fights at 3 in the morning, he would be starting. I wanted to see what he would be able to do, but it is hard to play someone who doesn't understand the offense. Look at Brady for example. He was a back-up, but he was always prepared. He had a chance and made the most of it.

It was kind of telling when listening to Travis Benjamin (BTW....he needs Hooked on Phonics....sounds like a Rastafarian Mushmouth from Fat Albert) say that "if Johnny mispronounces the plays we'll have to correct him in the huddle so we get it right."

First of all, no evidence that he was drunk when accosted by some groupie at HS OWN HOME. Secondly, so you're saying the man isn't playing because he was up past midnight? Is that it? Have a ton of fun watching the 27th ranked quarterback in the league do his thing. I would much rather see Spergyn Winn or Thaddeus Lewis over this POS.

Christ what is your problem? I was watching ESPN and one of their reporters/commentators said that first. They cut to him...the guy on the spot, the guy they are paying to get the scoop and the first damn thing he said was the players overwhelmingly wanted Hoyer.

I dgaf one way or the other...a big ol Jimmy cracked corn to me. I didn't make the damn claim....I posted the claim the ESPN guy gave me.

As for your actual question, lord, some therapist could make a big name for himself by figuring out exactly what is wrong with Footwedge. He's not playing because he doesn't understand the playbook. Hoyer has been awful the past month, but the players and coaches feel that he gives them the best chance to win this week.

Yeah, he has to know the playbook by now.
There is a difference though between knowing the playbook and the practical application of it. That can only be had by game reps. I dont know how many reps JM gets with the first team, but most starters in the NFL take a very, very high percentage in practice.

One thing that is diff as well is the calls would be diff for JM. His skill set is different and here is a trial and error that goes on. What looks good on paper or a play or two in practice may not translate. It is all about reps reps reps and I bet the OL, WR, RB's havent had enough reps in the plays that they would like to possibly call that would benefit JM.

Just watched Jim Donavan on the sports show and his report was a lot different than what Pettine had said. Pettine clamed the coaches were in unison regarding his decision and Donavan adamantly claimed that the coaches/office were not in agreement.

Also, Donavan would not name names but said that several defensive players made comments that Johnny would present a lot more problems for defenses than what Hoyer would do.

According to Jim Donavan's report (and he works for the Browns and needs to watch what he says) the coaches and players are not in agreement that Hoyer fives them the best chance to win.

I like Pettine as a coach in that his players play hard for him. His no excuse mantra is all good by me too (unlke "me, me, me" Brian Hoyer), but he blew it here....big time.

I'm going to try to sell my tickets. If I can't find anyone to go, my son and I will be there. I'll exercise my right to boo the living shit out of the 27th rated quarterback. I won't be alone n doing so.

I'm sorry that you spent your life savings on tickets to go see Johnny play. If you are truly a Browns fan, why wouldn't you root for them to win? I don't care who is playing, I root for the team. Then again, I never had a crush on a football player like you do.

Spend tickets on the browns to spend time with your son, but now you contemplate throwing that time away with your son, because you are a butt hurt bitch that JFF isn't starting. It works a lot better to send JFF to the rescue if Hoyer can't get it done than vice versa.

The thing I worry about, is that things will get ugly early if Hoyer fails to move the team or get it in the end zone.
