We definitely have to draft a pass rusher this upcoming draft to make up for the Mingo pick.

This is game makes me nervous. I think we have to win 11 games to make the playoffs. The AFCN is tough. Maybe 10-6 gets you in.

Browns 24
Bills 14
Browns could finish 12-4 and conceivably not get in. Highly unlikely tho. 10-6 won't get them in this year as the Browns are last against everybody on tie breakers.

A number of 10-6 teams havent made it, and only 1 11-5 team I believe hasnt made it and that was before they allowed 12 teams into the playoffs.

Prove it.

Finish behind Steelers at 12-4 via tie breaker

Browns winning out would guarantee Baltimore and Cincy behind them.

Pittsburgh winning out gives the Chiefs a 5th loss.

Browns go 12-4 the worst case scenario is a WC between them and SD or Denver for the #5 and #6 seeds.

Lol, no one has math skills quite like Foot. Which is good, or as a country, we'd rank below Somalia in education.

You're right. I didn't know Pittspuke played KC. But I stand by my take that the Browns don't get in at 10-6. Moot point anyway. The Browns will limp home with Hoyer running things.

I feel like this is becoming a reoccurring response from FW.

If the 10-6 includes wins over Bengals and ravens, they would have a good chance of getting in.

I like the confidence of some. The Bills aren't the Jags or Texans. They're BETTER.

Hopefully, Shanahan is the genius OC that many are stating. If he is, he'll abandon the run on 1st down and throw it to keep Buffalo's front four on their toes. If he tries to do the typical "run on first down", Hoyer is going to be running for his life a lot. The Bills have almost 50 sacks with three of their D-Linemen having 9.5 or more. If they are in a lot of 3rd & longs, it's probably not going to be a good day. Biggest concerns are McDonald & Schwartz getting mauled. Hopefully, they get reinforcements.

Before anyone posts the "oh, you're so doom & gloom", I'm just stating FACTS. If the Browns are going to win this game, I have a feeling they are going to have to win by playing "Tressel ball" (a lot of punts to win the field position game). Believe it or not, I think the defense & special teams are going to be a bigger key than the offense. The Bills win with defense and their offense generally puts up 20 points, or around there. If the Browns can hold them to under that, and keep it very low scoring, I think they have a chance.

Not a gloom and doom post, but you're just acting like everyone is writing off the bills. The only one to do that so far is durkie.

I think the Browns could get in at 10-6 but I think one of those losses would need to be against Carolina. They need as many conference wins as possible due to tie breakers.

Interesting scenario was brought up yesterday. With the Browns playing the Rats and the Steelers playing the Bengals in the final week of the season, wouldn't it be interesting if week 17 came down to who wins the division (assuming all had 9 or 10 wins going in)?

That could very well be a reverse jinx.

Hey, I'll be the first to admit the Browns have improved this year but they're still not "good", imo. This game will be the biggest test, to me, as to whether they are indeed a playoff contender. This is going to be a very tough game, win or lose. Just hope they can find a way to pull it out.

Orton is actually a better version of Hoyer (12 TD's, 3 INT's and 65% completions, I believe). The D has to find a way to rattle him because Buffalo's O-Line sucks. A special teams TD would be nice too. God knows, Benjamin's due to break one.

I think Mingo leads the NFL in almost making plays. He's usually close to the ball, but runs right by the QB/ball carrier or whiffs the tackle.

We aren't getting any special teams tds, they are too afraid.

As for orton, his stats are like that because 90% of their routes go for 5 yards or less. They don't take too many chances down field. The key (just as is the same key for the bills) is stop the rushing attack, and force orton to make plays.

That's what happens when you base entire year-long arguments off:

1. Your personal opinion
2. A general guess at "unimportant things" like stats, trends, etc.
3. An in-depth look at good things a player (or players) has/have done at completely different levels of play.
