Uh, they didn't. And if they didn't this week, I doubt it happens at this point seeing they don't play a conference championship. If OSU wins, they will stay 5 or with luck, move up. Baylor is not jumping OSU unless OSU loses.

centralbucksfan;1681355 wrote:Not sure it was so much TCU as much as the committee is very luke warm with FSU. Unfortunately, besides Baylor possibly moving up over OSU, this was worst possible scenario that was unexpected. As many above have said, I think we now need a loss. May have been done on purpose honestly. Don't think they wanted to ding OSU with losing JT...this was an easy thing to do, moving up TCU to 3, knowing they don't play in a conference championship, thus making them comfortable to stay in top 4. Interesting to say the least...
OSU would have needed a loss regardless, so the scenario is not any worse than before. Do you honestly think OSU would've jumped anyone to get into the final four with none of those four losing??? If so, you're more delusional than I thought.

and imo, if OSU squeaks by and Jones doesn't play well, and Baylor beats the crap out if K-State, then there is a very real possibility of them jumping OSU.

If TCU would have been 4th, and not playing in a conference title game, OSU beats Wisconsin, VERY possible. Even more if OSU would win convincingly. OSU would have had a better resume, hands down. That's as delusional as you calling for Hermans head! Now that's just ignorance!

I may have to take the foil off my head but I think the committee didn't want osu to beat wisky and be pressured into slipping a QB-less team (sorry cordale..) into the playoffs over TCU.

Also, they aren't going to move osu over an undefeated team and no one will ask them to. But TCU...

Is centralbucks serious about TCU? Theyd of been 11-1 with the 11th toughest SOS, what possible reason would OSU have for jumping them? Dont know how theyd have a better resume than TCU

Funny how these analysts bring up how the Buckeyes struggled against Penn State and Minnesota(who is a good team), but they never mention how TCU nearly lost to a horrible Kansas team. They also overlook how terrible FSU has been all year, using the argument that they just keep winning. Yes, but they look like trash week in and week out. Pretty clear to see the agenda of most of these media members.

It is now pretty simple. Either Oregon or FSU loses, coupled with a Buckeye win...playoffs.

TCU also has a better resume and better SOS than the Buckeyes with the same 1 loss. Not to mention OSU no longer has their starting QB. Theres no way IMO OSU should jump TCU and the way its set up, unless they lose, OSU wont

FSU has struggled, but theyre undefeated. The only team in the nation that is. Didnt you guys win a national title in that exact same manner?

If Baylor wins next week and they don't jump tcu, then they already fucked this system up.

Actually it is Bama or FSU. If Arizona beats Oregon for a second time they will be in the final 4.

You think a two loss team will jump OSU? Interesting.

One member of the committee supposedly said that the committee did not factor in the loss of Barrett in OSU's rankings THIS WEEK....but would NEXT WEEK. Even with a loss in the top 4, Jones is going to have to be impressive if the Bucks hope to get in .

That one member was the committee chair. And it wasn't supposedly said, he flat out said it.

Cardale has to perform as well as JT has in big games. That's what I take from his statement.

But like has been said, I don't think it will matter.

Any thought to the notion they also dropped FSU for the bowl game matchups?
The Sugar Bowl, Bama v. FSU makes way more sense logistically.
Also, say Oregon and OSU do win, 50/50 chance right now, the committee left the door open to moving OSU up to 3 so to keep the traditional Rose Bowl matchup?
Just a thought I had from last night.

If we don't get in, I hope we get an SEC team so we can put our third string in and win by 50.

I disagree, I don't think we will. We need FSU or Bama to lose as well as beating Oregon. If we beat Oregon but FSU and 'Bama both win, OSU will still make it over UofA unless OSU looks like absolute shit.

Yes, serious. OSU beat a TOP 10 team, MSU, on the road, convincingly. IF they beat Wisconsin, a top 15 team, those two wins trump anything TCU has done except for KSU win. And as I said..it doesn't matter now. The committee moved TCU to #3 for a reason. To keep them in top 4. This avoids any kind of issue pretty much with the OSU/TCU (4/5) argument.

I think most would completely disagree with this. Not when he has led one of the top offenses in the country the past 3yrs and developed two Heisman candidate QB's...one being a redshirt frosh this year.

But it still doesn't do them any favors in the Baylor/TCU argument if Baylor beats KSU convincingly too. At some point what happened on October 11 in Waco has to matter, right?
