Herbie was talking this morning about the information that he was being fed by the competition committee and such about going forward....that it will be almost impossible for a Miss St to be in the final 4 if it doesnt get into the SEC championship game. They said to expect alot of movement before the very last standings as that is when they will take in account those issues, and also the TCU/Baylor issue. If the overall resume is close, and at the end of the season it should be with Baylor and TCU, then it will go head to head which gives it to baylor over tcu

Why is Boise St above Colorado State? Yes, they defeated them at BSU 37-24 and Boise's extra loss was at Ole Miss but that 35-13 loss is looking worse and worse as Ole Miss is a loss vs Miss St from being ranked below both Boise and CSU.

Boise lost handily 28-14 to Air Force and has zero wins vs any power 5 conference teams. CSU has defeated 2 power conference schools and both on the road (Boston College, Colorado)...also CSU has defeated some of the same MW conference teams just like Boise St has.

I just don't believe BSU is being penalized at all for a 35-13 loss at Ole Miss, it just can't be thrown out (had it been a tight 35-31 loss....AND Ole Miss beats MSU), then I could dismiss it without hurting their resume (when comparing to CSU and Marshall)

CSU would have a conference championship (stronger conf) and 2 wins vs two members of big 5 power conferences (both on the road)

I would think the committee would have them at #25 to let everyone know they are right there.

I would bet Marshall would travel better though.

That is not technically an Apples to apples comparison. If Indiana beat Alabama then it would work better. Missouri is not the best team in the SEC. Ohio State is the best team in the whole B1G.

No way to get around it, the loss to VT was atrocious. Good news that it was early. I also think the fact we can win a conference championship game will put us ahead of MSU for sure. TCU/Baylor, I think we could possibly jump then as well but we need to be dominant.

The larger point is that a bad team beating a good team does not prove anything more than a bad team beat a good team in one game. It has no larger meaning on its own.

Well, they are getting some help. Miss St is losing, and FSU is still on the ropes per usual.

What will be crazy is if, all of the 1-loss teams lose. Say...

MSU loses today.
OSU loses next week.
Baylor loses to K-State.
FSU loses today.
Alabama loses another.

Then what???

Like I've said all along...OSU wants no part of being in these playoffs, especially now.
