My answer would be that point guards can't win games single-handedly on both ends; that's why with the exception of Magic and maybe Isaiah, both in a different era, a point guard hasn't been the best player on a championship team.
Note: Chauncey was arguably the best player on the Pistons but the Pistons as a team were the exception to the rule that you need a superstar to win a title.
