Why are you getting butthurt because I pointed out you incorrectly dismissed someone's valid point? That's not semantics dude, that's part of debate.

Because I just used the wrong terminology.

Me: Noel is a bust

UK fan: yeah but every body else in this draft sucked so I donno if he's a bust

Me: that doesn't make any sense

He hasn't been good but he had a good rookie season, it appears he is hitting his sophomore slump.

As a prediction, I'll take him over Noel going forward.

I just don't like Noel..I don't think he has the offensive game to be worth a damn.

And I've asked now 3 times. If he's Tyson Chandler, along with the rest of his draft, is that a bust? If it is...it's your opinion. IMO, Noel doesn't have the greatest skill set and I'd be kidding myself if I truly thought his upside is anything MORE than Chandler.

Same with Ben McLemore. As the 7th pick, if he becomes J.R. Smith in this draft, is that a bust? I'd say that's a decent comparison and that wouldn't be a bust...

Of course he's not a bust if he's Tyson chandler what kind of dumb fuck question is that? The point I'm making is he won't be Tyson chandler IN MY OPINION

Agreed. I'm not high on Noel either. But his defense is a strong utility and big men take longer to develop offensively than any other position. He's also only a rookie dude, the other people you're comparing him to have a huge advantage in having already played a year.

I don't disagree. I was just making a prediction based purely on opinion lol I didn't expect you guys (well okay I expected buike to defend his UK boys..) to jump down my throat.

Azubuike24;1676706 wrote:Define bust? He was a 6th pick, had a devastating injury to rehab from and is on an awful team. Will he ever be an all star? I don't think so. Could be become someone like Tyson Chandler? A 12 and 10 guy who will block shots, get a few assists and steals? Sure.

Also, comparing him to guys taken ahead of him, Cody Zeller, Otto Porter and Anthony Bennett and a vast majority of that draft, does he get that label still?
Chandler was DPOY and a key player on a championship team. If Noel becomes that, I think most ppl will say that's a fucking solid pick.

Hindsight is 20/20. I remember when S&L wanted the Cavs to take Otto Porter.

I've got Hayward on my fantasy team so I like to watch their games. Sometimes I'm just like "wtf Burke, wtf"

BTW I hate this entire exercise. One or two (or three) seasons is way too early to make any definitive statements about any player. Especially big men.

(S&L this isn't an attack--you stated an opinion that sparked a discussion. That's good)

I didn't contradict myself. I said he would be a bust. I probably would hVe been better off saying he isn't going to be very good in the NBA.

But even if he sucks and everyone else in the draft sucks doesn't make it inaccurate to call him a bust.

I disagree. I can give someone 1 season to be ok or bad but not 2 or 3.

Depends on the position. Like I said, I give big men a lot more leeway.
