8 in a row and RyJo makes another goalie look bad and is now 6-10 in the shootout this year.

Just about the worst type of season and win streak you can have. CBJ are healthy too. Of course, it won't carry over to next season where half the roster will start the year on IR and by Thanksgiving a playoff berth will be in doubt.

Nice to see them not throw in the towel. Isles will be east finalists. Tavares is really good.

I had the Isles pegged for a long time as the East Finalists but their cooling down and some other teams are heating up in the East. They might even manage to fall into a wildcard spot if they are not careful.

Have any of the local or national writers talked about this? There are sites that show the man games lost to injury, and the CBJ is near the worst more years than not over the last several seasons. At some point, things stop being luck or coincidence, even if there's no pattern to the injuries themselves.

I've never seen it discussed, but having some family members who are devout members and close to some in the organization, it has been brought up. It's difficult because how much do you put on the players, or on the medical staff? Certain injuries are flukes. Then shoulders and hands during a fight, etc. They royally screwed up/didn't luck out on the Horton thing.

I know for certain the Voracek trade is viewed as a big mistake. Look at the guy now. Near MVP level.

A guy like Ryan Murray has just proven to be injury prone. It sucks because he is good. Boone Jenner plays so hard all the time sometimes taking stupid risks. Just last game he dove towards the puck and ended up taking a stick and skate to the chin because of it. Bob was rushed back from his first injury but I think the team learned McBackup can be a decnt filler and not to rush him anymore they also need to give him more days off. I've also seen a couple times in the preface shows showing the older guys hitting the arena and ice early and stretching while almost all of the younger guys just played soccer. I even remember one pregant show one of the vets said I just can't grab a Redbull and play soccer and hit the ice like the you young guys can.

maybe the team needs someone to take charge and get these guys taking care of their body

How great would it be if the kings and pens both miss the playoffs? I'd be happy.

As would I. And if the Pens get in, I hope the Bruins are out.

Crazy final day of the season. Ottawa clinches which means either Pittsburgh or Boston will
miss the postseason

CBJ close the season out strong. Now what will happen to the roster. They have way to many forwards. Letestu is a UFA and he should be the top priority to get resigned. He is the best 4th line center possibly in the league and good friends with Bob. Calvert is a RFA so depending if someone wants to overpay for him the CBJ might let him walk. Boll needs to have his contract bought out and sent on his way. Proud can fill his roll as enforcer. I don't want to see Arty go unless he is packaged with a couple younger guys for a high caliber player.

These are the lines I would like to see next year.

Jenner RyJo Cam
Folingo Arty Dubi
Hartnell Wennberg Dano (the chemistry between these 3 are great and I don't want to see Dano or Wennberg sent to the minors)
Clarkson Letestu Calvert

You could switch Cam and Clarkson but I hate when Cam and Calvert are on a line together. They also need to add one solid defensemen and this team could really give the NHL fits.

Did anyone watch the BU/Providence championship game last night? The last two goals were nuts. One for how absurd it was for the goalie to drop the puck like that and the second for how pretty it was top shelfed. And then Boston missed a wide open net with like a minute to go b

Pittsburgh made the playoffs! I mean, they're gonna get swept by the Rangers because they've been complete shit for the past month or two, but playoffs!

Boston's goalie single handedly lost them that game. BU pretty much dominated play but their goalie couldn't do shit, no way should Providence been able to score 4 goals with the chances they had

Pens limp into the playoffs vs the Rangers. Computer models have the Rangers winning the series at 64%.
Hell...maybe without all the hype the pens will overachieve this postseason.

Letestu is UFA and Calvert is RFA. I could see them not qualifying Calvert and letting him hit UFA.

Jenner-Johansen-Atkinson
Foligno-Anisimov-Dubinsky
Hartnell-Wennberg-Clarkson
Dano-XXXXX-Bjorkstrand
Boll

Sonny Milano could also earn a spot depending how his camp goes.

Regarding the Pens, I expect them out in 5. There's no pressure on them this time around and hopefully they'll be able to upset the Rags. Unlikely.
