Nurses didn't wear protective suits the first 2 days until test confirmed he had ebola.

My daughter who is a senior at Kent State told my wife and I today that the kids on campus got worked up into a lather over this nurse coming into contact with some Kent State employees who had then been on campus. They are being "asked" to stay off campus and monitor themselves for 21 days.

According to the article I linked above the CDC says the nurse should not have been flying because she cared for the ebola patient and had a fever of 99.5.

I will say this anyone who boards a commercial flight with a fever is being selfish and personally irresponsible regardless of any lather the media is working up. Period.

The quote from the article I posted was from the directer of the CDC saying she should not be flying and not lower level employees that said she was ok to fly. They way it sounds to me there is a lack of communication in the CDC as to what the correct procedures are. Or maybe this director is covering his ass an tossing the lower level employees under the bus.

Going to Playa del Carmen next month. Flying Detroit to Dallas to Cancun. It was booked months ago and it just dawned on me yesterday that I was going to Dallas.

Wife is clearly having a mini freak out. (She's a woman who watches the news and doesn't research anything so it is to be expected) I'm not overly concerned but I'm not going to be licking the tray in front of me either. Just bringing an extra travel hand sanitizer and maybe a small thing of wipes in my carry on. I try to avoid airplane restrooms in normal situations so this won't be any different.

The thing that is scary about planes is that you have no control over who you are near and their actions. It is easy to say, "I avoid people who are showing flu like symptoms anywhere so this isn't any different." Sure, if somebody is coughing or looks like hell in the office it is easy to avoid them but if the person next to me starts coughing up a lung and bleeding from the eyes, I am stuck next to them.

The way you ended every post on this thread with some ominous comment followed by "..." makes it seem like you are hoping all hell breaks loose.

If you're watching the congressional hearing with the CDC director, Dr. Frieden is a bumbling fool. He has no clue how the nurses got infected.

This morning Matt Lauer was interviewing a nurse who works at that hospital and she was saying that the suits they were using had exposure areas around the neck and chin and that the hospital wasn't really sure what to do and in turn a couple people were infected.

All we need to do is wait another 2-3 weeks and if no one else pops with Ebola from this incident, it looks like Armageddon will be delayed once again.
