My mom was a great cook and many of you can make that same claim.
However there are some things that just didn’t work and the combo of the ingredients in the recipe made matter worse.

What are some foods that your wife, gf, relatives and mom would prepare that was just uneatable?

Love tuna and noodles casserole … wife adds peas … …. NO
Stuff Peppers or Cabbage Rolls .. the combo of those ingredients … NO
Ham Loaf …… not part of the food chain ever…. NO
Jell-O with Marshmallow and Carrot shaving inside …. Who the hell created that Christmas Special Dessert ….. NO

Belly, I disagree with your first one. Peas are awesome in Tuna Noodle Casserole. As for the other 3 I agree don't like them either.

I used to date a girl who was half-Trinidadian, her mother would cook curry all the time. I couldn't stand it. I stomached it the first few times out of respect, but the smell alone turned me off.

I think the only problem I have with my mom's cooking is that, now that she's older, she has a very bland palate. Meanwhile, I love spicy food (which definitely doesn't fit into her tastes). Which makes some of the sides she creates really meh due to lack of flavor. In particular, this corn-mush stuff that she seems to really like cooking.

My uncle used to be a fantastic cook. Would win local and statewide cook-offs for multiple dishes.

About 10 years ago he got cancer on left side of his face/neck. They removed it, but he went through chemo. It really fucked up his taste-buds and now his cooking is almost unbearable. Really, really sad.

I don't like peas in the casserole-but I'll eat it.

I don't like marshmallows in anything.

Sweet pickles or pickle relish-get it out of here.

Tried to eat pickled herring (fish) once and I nearly threw it up on my plate...terrible.
