^^this. Gonna lose some games, this just puts more pressure on. We absolutely have to win one game minimum of this series as each of these games are 2 game swings. We need some offense....bad.

I am with you guys. I guarantee the guys in the clubhouse aren't hanging their head and packing it in. They have shown an uncanny ability to rebound from exactly these situations. I won't bury them yet.

The saddest thing is 9,990 in the house. Tough with school back in session and the day after a holiday but still...that is pretty sad for a team in contention.

The Marlins had 17k in the house last night. Even the Rays who are dead and out and notorious for shitty crowds had a bigger crowd. Twins had 24k. Astros had 17k. 30 games under .500 Colorado had 25k.

Why is the attendance so low? Reds aren't great on attendance but I think had double the attendance of Cleveland during the 2 games series.

People saving their Indians ticket money to buy Cavs tickets? Economy sucks?

I was one of those 9990...we sat in the Terrace club and got seats on the glass without a reservation. the stadium seemed empty

Because it's a joke of a fan base. Honestly though Cleveland is averaging 18,000 a game and 43% capacity for their games, IMO the team should be moved

Nice try. The same franchise that sold out every game forever. No they never won it all but that's never stopped them before. Football is the clear cut #1, LeBron returning makes Cavs a powerful drawing #2....but the Indians have a good shot at the playoffs. As a huge baseball fan they aren't a real attractive team to watch but they should have plenty of regulars who follow no matter what and being in a pennant race and vs the Tigers....below 20,000 is sad. Maybe they just feel they have no chance against the Tigers.

Honestly though it's like is Cleveland wealth wise that much worse off than the metro Detroit area? I just don't get it because going to Tigers games are such a big deal around there and have been since the '06 Pennant. Cleveland won 92 games last season and is in the thick of a playoff race in September, I don't get how the ballpark is that empty. I mean look at the last midweek night game Detroit had against Pittsburgh, was a Wednesday night and they nearly sold out the place

Ownership has turned off a lot of fans. While Ilitch has proven time and time again that he will do anything possible to win, our ownership has done nothing but trade our players for peanuts instead of paying them.

This is back to back years of putting a consistent product on the field but years of trading our Cy Young winners for prospects that never worked out put a bad taste in many mouths. Is that a valid excuse to stay away from the park? Probably not. The guys they have on the field now certainly deserve more support than they get.

The value at the ball park is very reasonable. Some of the cheapest concessions in the league. Tickets aren't too bad price-wise. Fun bars and restaurants around the stadium. I really can't put my finger on the exact root of the attendance issue.

Winning and being in a pennant race should be enough to get fans to come but sometimes it isnt. I think if the reds were in the same boat right now they would have poor attendance as well. Ya have to market it as the thing to do, as the exciting place to be, stuff like that. Unfortunately baseball, as a game, isnt the draw it used to be for many people. In cincy the crowds get the loudest when they strike out 11 and get free pizza.

You are correct on that. Attendance across the board is down. The Royals were having similar issues to the point where the manager called out the fans publicly. I don't think anyone is expecting them to pack in 30-40k during the week but 9k is just awful.

The fans leave quick when things are going bad and are slow to buy back in when things start to get better.

Premature to stick a fork in em for sure. Hold on today and tribe will have a shot at going 5-2 on this crucial stretch. Tribe is actually a game better than the standings show with the suspended game. Last night was brutal but we won a game like that Saturday and probably will win the suspended game...a game we should have lost. Hopefully Kluber and Allen can shake their mini slumps soon.
