Two of the kids in street clothes for Campbell at the Struthers game were declared ineligible until week 5 because of the residency rule. There is a rumor that people from Struthers had contacted the OHSAA earlier in the week about the two kids. One is a starting senior lineman. The other is a starting sophomore DB who is also our kicker. However, even if those two had suited up, the outcome would not have been any different. Struthers is just a superior team to Campbell at this point in time. Campbell is rebuilding with many young kids starting.
Doesn't address my previous post, but whatever.
I said that I thought Brookfield was overhyped coming into this season. I asked what you guys think Campbell's chances are of beating Girard or Brookfield. And I expressed sincere concern for the players who were injured.
Give me some credit... I wasn't trying to gloat, or rub it in. If I were, I'd be a Hell of a lot more direct about it.
If you want to be bitter because someone from Struthers may or may not have reported some things to the OHSAA that got 2 players ruled ineligible, that's fine. Knock yourself out. But I didn't call the OHSAA.
What is the residency rule? You mean this one?
OHSAA Bylaw 4-7-2
"The basic transfer bylaw is quite simple. If a student transfers at any time after the fifth day of the
student’s ninth grade year or after having established eligibility by playing in a contest (scrimmage,
preview/jamboree, Foundation game or regular season/tournament contests) until the one year anniversary of the
date or enrollment in the school to which the student transferred, the student shall be ineligible for all contests
(including all scrimmages, preview/jamboree/Foundation game) until after the first 50% of the maximum
allowable regular season contests in those sports in which the student participated during the twelve months
immediately preceding the transfer have been competed."

That rule? Instead of spreading rumors about Struthers telling on Campbell (I'm not saying it didn't happen... it very well may have), ask yourself why Campbell was trying to sneak them on the field to begin with.
I understand that Rozum has been away for a while, but it's not like this is an old rule that was in place 10 years ago. It's a brand new rule. He should've known better.
Say those 2 players do play in the first 5 games, then it comes out that they should have been ineligible. Any wins that Campbell had to that point would then have to be forfeited...
