Since someone had sand in their vagina and didnt like the negativity of the game thread I started yesterday I decided to start fresh with a positive attitude.

My 11-6 record is on the line tonight as the Redlegs begin their almost unprecedented season ending race to grab a WC spot.

The offense is starting to come along and soon the pitching staff will do what it has done all season and that is shut down teams. Reds win the series in SL and that propels them to strong finish.

Looks like Simon's fastball may have more movement on it than in recent past. The last one to K Holliday was a good one.

Lackey likes hitting! That hit put him over .100 in his career. Hit a good pitch.

If Simon would have gotten the pitch Holliday hit in the same inside location that he did the previous 2 for the first 2 strikes, he'd have gotten him out, but he left it in the middle. 1-0 Cards with the bases loaded yet.

Simon got a break on the 3-1 to Peralta, then flew him out to CF on the next pitch to limit the damage to just one run. But the way is pitching, that may be enough, although maybe Lackey got worn out running the base to score the run, having to go hard from 2nd to home on Hamilton's throw home.

Does Hamilton lead the league in bases advanced on errors?

That hit and subsequent base running IMO gave the Reds a chance. After 3 perfect innings with zero pitches up, he left pitch after pitch up as the Reds hit him pretty good.

That was his 5th career hit and 3rd career run scored....and it cost him

Brewers winning and Lucroy up to 42 doubles. Catchers leading the league in doubles....I'd say that's rare

Carpenter thought BP was running instead of Meso and didn't get the out he was expecting after his mis-play. Had a better shot to force Bruce at 3rd by beating him to the bag.

Simon trying his hardest and gets Adams on the 12th pitch to him with help from Billy to get to the line drive in time!

Thank goodness Billy hit the cut-off man enabling them to nail the potential tying run at 3rd on a base-running mistake. Can the bullpen hold a one run lead for the last 3 innings? More Reds offense could enhance the lead. Every run enhances the chances, but it will take a whole lot to insulate the bullpen from a likely melt-down!

Bring back Parra, who threw 11 pitches, in the 8th, at least thru Jay and Taveras.

What is Thom talking about that the Reds took full advantage of the Cards errors???? After the two errors in the 6th, Ludwick's one out double knocked in 2 and put runners on 2nd and 3rd. I wouldn't call not scoring either one of them "taking full advantage of the errors"!!! Just one in which should have been nearly a given in typical baseball would mean the Reds would have a 5-4 lead going to the bottom of the 9th.

And Broxton would have been in the game in the 9th trying for the save, instead of Hoover allowing all 4 of the batters to reach safely to end the game.

Hoover going out for the 9th means a St. Louis win.

Oh wow. Hoover is mere pitches from being 1-10. Crazy he keeps getting chances in close games.

LOL, I didn't watch it but was there even a 1% chance the Reds would make it to extra innings with Hoover pitching?
