Them being more part of the community is nice and reasonable goal but it's not required and has nothing to do with people respecting nd following the laws.
being more part of he community makes the community more likely to respond well to them

That's understood.

Not being part of the community doesn't make it acceptable to not respect and comply with the law. It's not an excuse.

I didn't say you said anything of the sort but simply stated across several posts that it would be a great goal to have them be part of the community but it not existing doesn't make the current situation acceptable when laws are not respected.

HitsRus;1680003 wrote:That's a false narrative. You comply with the police to help them serve us better. There job is to protect us from lawbreakers and in doing that their life is always on the line. You don't know what is going down around you. They may be on the lookout for an armed criminal. They have to go into rough neighborhoods. And you can be sure that they want to go home at the end of the day and see their families just like any other law abiding citizen wants to do.
Are their bad cops, sure. Are some racist? sure. But mostly there are an awful lot of good cops too. Assume that the guy stopping you is a good guy doing his job. If he abuses you...FILE A COMPLAINT...afterward.

In any situation that involves a firearm, the first thing you try to do is defuse the situation. You NEVER provoke a man with a gun whether it be a criminal or a cop....and that has nothing to do with race.

...and you still didn't answer the question I asked. Is there ever a good reason NOT to comply with police requests/orders? If NO then why is that message not being put out there? If yes, then tell me what the circumstances are that you are allowed to provoke a police officer.
Well if the Police orders/request violate your rights, then it is ok to not comply.

I wouldn't expect anyone to function in a manner that was against their constitutional rights.

I think that is obvious, but that does not allow to be belligerent or uncooperative in other ways.

Nothing wrong with that, and quite frankly, I know for a fact that Cleveland cops and safety forces are quite active in the community. That did not , however, make a difference in the publicized police chase that went on for miles and ended with 2 people dead. None of that happens if those people just pull over and stop. Sure, the police violated procedures already in place, and they are at fault and are liable, but none of that happens if the suspects just pull over. The problem is...that's not the message we get here. It's all about police overreaction, and nothing about what triggered it. The same with Ferguson...it's all about suspected racism and suspected police overreaction....but where's the message that none of this happens if the law is not broken...none of this happens if the suspect just complies with an order to move off the street....none of this happens if the suspect just shows the peace officer some respect.

I would. The smart thing to do is comply, then sue the living hell out of the officer/department/jurisdiction.

Cops are trained, and correctly so IMO, to never cede control of any encounter. To attempt to make them do so, even if technically correct is a highly dangerous way to proceed.

So they are not part of the community because they are white. I thought we weren't supposet o judge people on the color of their skin.

Sorry Zwick, time to grow up.

Exactly. I would comply even if it was against my rights and take careful notes to build a lawsuit against the officer. You see, me being white I'm looking to gain financially rather than start a fighting match with a guy who has a gun. Sorry MB, Darwin called and you lost.

No its not ok. Any credibility you have goes right out the window when you refuse to comply. Not only that, most people don't know what their rights are in regards to the law. Your rights aren't what you believe they should be, they are what society and the law says they are.

This is the answer. Our democracy has a system of checks and balances for a reason.

It looks like it's been deleted.

A new poster posted what looks to be a complaint to CC runners employing school district showing all the racist posts he has on here. He also said he copied the Dayton newspaper to make sure something was done about it.
