Actually what's wrong with society can be directly attributed to people who don't think for themselves and buy into whatever the media tells them. Cancer is a terrible disease, but those who have cancer don't deserve any praise for obtaining it. Sympathy? Sure. Praise? Most cancer research is funded by the federal government anyway.
