Yep. Best station ever if you're a baseball fan. Just two nights ago, I got to see virtually all the ninth inning of Pittsburgh's 3-2 win over Arizona because the game they were showing (Tigers-As) had ended. And since the Pirates are local blacked out where I live, that was a huge unexpected treat for me that evening of drunken housesitting.

As the TV deals have become bigger over the years, they cover the shit out of the stuff they pay for (NFL, NBA, SEC), and they ignore as much as possible those things they lose out on (NHL). They only cover what they can get you to watch on their TV's, which is understandable to an extent, but not as much as they do it.

If you want to watch an example, watch for NASCAR coverage. They have a contract for the second half of the season (end of July on), so they'll saturate it, expecially until CFB starts. They lost it to NBC next year, you won't even know they race cars come next February.

When did ESPN become NBA TV, usually I would blame Steven A Smith for this....but not this time. It is that lull in sports seasons, where nothing is really happening in football (not to be confused with fut'ball). They WANT big stories right now, but all that ESPN can muster is "Is Johnny Football partying Too Hard!?" When that is your lead story on ESPN....it is the SLOW season!

In season, perhaps. Personally, I've never understood the growing concept that the transaction is more interesting than the action. Give me more of the sports actually being played.
