Might as well give this a shot. Indians need to have a strong finish into the ASG. Luckily they can't get no-hit by Kershaw.

Game 1, Monday 10:10 - Corey Kluber (7-5, 3.09 ERA, 1.23 WHIP) vs. Dan Haren (7-4, 3.83 ERA, 1.28 WHIP)

Game 2, Tuesday 10:10 - Justin Masterin (4-5, 5.03 ERA, 1.54 WHIP) vs. Josh Beckett (5-4, 2.11 ERA, 1.00 WHIP)

Game 3, Wednesday 3:10 - Trevor Bauer (2-4, 4.39 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) vs. Hyun-Jin Ryu (9-4, 3.12 ERA, 1.21 WHIP)

Have to win the first to win the series, in my opinion.

Masterson will need to get his shit together for anything meaningful to happen this year. Never thought he would be THIS bad this late in the year. Really hoping it was the knee all along and he gets it healed.

He took a big chance not agreeing to the extension offer him. He needs to turn it up big time the second half to get paid next year.

unless he's hurt, I think he'll get a Kazmir -like contract...at worst.

Did we ever offer him anything? I know there were talks and they fizzled. I thought they never were able to come to an agreement.

I can see that. I think he was counting on more, however. He turned down 3 years $51 million.

Yep. They were pretty close and thought it would happen and if I remember Masterson's agent was looking for a longer deal and the Indians stopped negotiating once the season started.

Either way, it kinda sucks for both now.

We dont know, but it would be somewhat foolish to think his poor play isnt a bit affected by the lack of a long term deal. On the surface, its looking like the Tribe made a good "non" deal in the matter...but, it would sure be nice to know we had a solid pitcher (no way is he this bad the next 3 years) locked up and who knows, he might be pitching better with a contract?!?

The Indians tried. He said no..or his agent did. I thought the Indians offer was more than fair.

Masterson rolled the dice. He still might come out with a better offer....but he's got to pitch way better int he second half.

I wouldn't mind if the Tribe came back with an offer.

Asdrubal is terrible. Lindor better be ready, I don't see any way Cabrera is on our team post trade deadline.

We currently have 2 hits in the past 16 innings, one of which was an infield single.

For the love of God the bats need to get it going!

Kluber is the ace of this staff right now and it is not even close.

How does he not catch that? Brantley is usually better than that.

Really? First freaking major league hit and it was a pinch hit spot with 2 outs. Just our freaking luck. I thought Kluber was going to get out of it there.

Of course the Indians give up an RBI 1B to a guy who doesnt have a hit in his ML Career.

Kluber pitched a hell of a game tonight. He needs some help. Hopefully they can pull even (God forbid get ahead even) as he does not deserve an L for the way he pitched tonight.
