I have seen big strides even this summer. On the otherhand, there is another aspect of the game which is intellectual. It is not second nature to them. Theyre still learning. When its second nature you just let the physical tools loose. We are not there yet. Lets be honest, there is not a single linebacker in the system that has learned to read. Not one. It has never been taught under Ryan, Bayuk, or Sikora. These linebackers are finally learning what should have been taught at lower levels. It will take time, but thank God its at least being taught.
I agree with every point you have brought up. like i said i before. As long as they deliver punishing old school hits. they can hang in a few games this year. And i'm so glad now that it finally come to pass. it might take a few seasons but i do see campbell being a top team again in the area. Has Coach assigned anyone to coach 9th grade and little devils. it all starts there if you ask me. being taught then helped campbell tremendously in the 80's

Struthers guys how scrimmage go? Heard sophomore center had a rough first scrimmage? But obviously I wasnt there. Will they have QB line up under center more often now?

At Big Red. Struthers doesnt have any local scrimmages. Is the Big Red scrimmage a jamboree?

If its the last scrimmage then yes its will be! Lock up your daughters that day. I totally despise Big Red. I lived down here for going on 11 years and i'm sick of how the coach got away with his involvement. Also how the they perceive others area teams as not in their league. I hope studders puts some of them in the unable to perform list. And another thing about that school is they go after every good player from the area and leave the other teams bare in the cupboard ! you think mooney and ursuline is badsoupcitysoldier;1644218 wrote:At Big Red. Struthers had a couple fumbled snaps that will be taken care of, Obviously the scrimmage is a scrimmage for a reason they will be very vanilla on both sides of the ball which is expected. The QB shows big promise tho, not running the ball at all in scrimmages for obvious reasons is also a way to get him comfortable throwing the ball. Defense will be the strong point at least for the beginning of the year until some of the young kids adjust. Getting Luke back week 3 will also be huge, no clear replacement in my eyes for him right now, will be by committee the first 2 weeks i would assume.

Didn't look at Campbells schedule until just now, Struthers, Range, Brookfield then Girard to start the season is not too promising.

No i think he played very well. Threw a pick on a dumb mistake but pretty good fpr the most part, completing most of his attempts

I'm confused why everyone is so high on girard this year? South range? I think both winnable games but I could be wrong.

We're the snaps that bad for that many miscues? Tough breaking in a sophomore at center but that'll reap plenty of rewards down the line.

I thought the same thing about Girard... I'll give you that. I think South Range will be very good this year, though. They do still have Alessi... I think SR will be tough.soupcitysoldier;1644327 wrote:I'm confused why everyone is so high on girard this year? South range? I think both winnable games but I could be wrong.

Agreed Btrev. Return 2 great starters in the qb and RB, but not much of anything else. Lose 4 offensive linemen and 7 all conference defensive players. Just think its a game Campbell can win considering Sikora beat Yeagley 3 out of 4 years. It's an offense you can scheme against defensively if you're smart. SR will be tough but I think my Devils have a shot that night at home.

I think they have a shot at home against SR. Stadium will be packed and it's going to be a special night. Kids should be fired up.soupcitysoldier;1644423 wrote:Agreed Btrev. I forgot to take that into consideration. Rozum's first home game in 15 years? Campbell should be pretty psyched up for that one...

One other thing he said was it was like a feeling he could not describe seeing rozum out there on the field.

Mosora transferred to Geneva, now plays with Harkulich who also transferred there from Mount Union, and Quinlan who was already there.

The offense didn't get going much at all. Threw a pick 6 as well. The defense looked okay for the first scrim.

Spread I actually felt the opposite. Think the defense has a ways to go, but settled in after first possession. I thought the offense looked pretty good. Moved the ball down the field and consistently got good gains on the ground. Campbell ran 3 different run plays and one pass play. One of the run plays they only ran once. It was very basic. Also they were without their best offensive/defensive lineman and best offensive player Aaron Jackson. It was what I thought it would be...some good some bad. Overall heading in the right direction.
