Our Tribe head to Seattle for a 3 game weekend series vs the Seamen. These two clubs played some great games last year. The Tribe won a couple walk offs during the games in Cleveland and I believe they handled them in Seattle as well. They were sick of us last year.

Friday- Bauer (2-3 4.40) v Young (6-4 3.23)
Saturday- Tomlin (4-5 4.39) v Elias (7-5 3.74)
Sunday- TBD v (Hernandez (9-2 2.24)

The Mariners have won 8 of 11 and 5 of their 6 so they are playing some good baseball.

M's have some solid pitching. Sunday is going to be really tough. Have to get them tonight and tomorrow.

Seattle also has an excellent bullpen. As a unit they sport a 2.64 ERA.

Tribe are 9-6 vs the Mariners over the last 3 seasons.

M's spent a ton of money in the off season, and while they are not in first place, they are certainly in contention. Sunday's game pitcher will be an AAA call up for the Tribe....and going up against Hernandez too. This will be a tough series to win.

I hate these west coast swings with the late start times.

Usually like having the game on in the background during the evening at home. Going from having a game to watch everyday to pretty much nothing this week has been kind of weird.

I would sign up for 3-3 over this next 6 vs Seattle and the Dodgers.

^^^agreed!

Frankly, I'd be happy with .500 ball right to the All Star break.

We miss Kershaw and Greinke, but their staff is just sick all around.

We seem to always play Haren well, but Beckett owns us. No track record with Ryu, but he is a tough lefty so that's an L.

Was checking tribe stats and no real surprise. Well...hard to figure how a 211 hitter can draw 56 walks. 56! Baseball is a funny game for sure. Oh...and the second leading guy regarding walks on the team? Nick Swisher with his 196 average of course (29)

Swisher has NOT been getting walks since he returned from DL though, which is why he has been benched a few times. It was something he was still doing before the injury, but now he has gone from awful to worthless.

M's out to an early 1-0 lead after some aggressive base running.

Unrelated, but what the hell happened to David Murphy? Guy was hitting .290 2 weeks ago and is down to .250 all the sudden.

Him, Brohio, Santana, when they go into slumps it is like a monster that sustains vs. something that lasts only a few games.

Bauer is incapable of having quick, efficient innings. He has good enough stuff that he should be able to trust it and throw strikes. I know he is young and is still learning how to pitch at this level but it is frustrating to watch sometimes.

14 guys LOB :( ....just needed a big hit to get down. Both Brantley and Santana just missed breaking the game open with hard hit balls that were caught for the third out.

Momma said there would be days like this. Lots of chances. Brantley's sac fly with the bases loaded early was close to extra bases.

Gotta find a way tonight with King Felix on the bump tomorrow.

^^^ Since 1914, the only Tribe pitcher and one of only 8 in all of MLB to do so!

Kudos!

Felix is simply awesome. So fun to watch him pitch. Much more fun to watch him pitch not vs the Indians but still a treat.

Today is officially the half way point of the season.

Tribe is now 39-42. 4.5 games out in the Wild Card, and 6.5 back in the central.

ESPN calculates we have a 19% chance at making the post season.

I had figured we'd be a roughly .500 team, so this is about roughly where that puts us.

2nd half is going to be big in that the AL West seems to be where the action is with the Wild Card, but those teams will have to start beating up on eachother at some point.

I think Shaponeti should get off their butts and get this team a bat for the stretch run, but I doubt any help is on the horizon.
