I will say Yedlin and Green aren't just promising players, they may become the greatest American players ever. We may very well have two superstars next WC

Good memories, 2014. 2018 will be something special. Green and Yedlin and Johannsson and Altidore will lead this team to something great, I'm calling it now.

I really hope Green is either loaned out somewhere he can get 1st team minutes or cracks Bayern within the next 4 years. So much promise, but needs minutes going forward.

Well, Im an Argentina fan now. And Netherlands (for financial reasons).

But, cannot wait till the Gold Cup next year, Copa coming to America and WCQ starting up for 2018. America finally looks like they have a legit team. Really sucks they only got to play 1 team who they had more raw talent than, and they got up so early they went into a defensive shell.

Damn, and Tim Howard is a GOD!!!

edit: isn't Wondo the player they kept instead of Donovan? prolly wouldn't of mattered, but was just curious.

Some will say Green or Wondo. He could have ended it.

A lot of what ifs, but I'm not that mad. Hell of an effort.

Thoughts on Howard moving forward? Is he done?

Id rather him retire, just cause Guzan is the future. Might as well get reps in the coming years.

Guzan is the man in the future. He will be starting in future US games.

I know most are high on Guzan, I just haven't seen enough of him to really have an opinion. Sucks to see Timmy go, guy is a fucking rock.

If it was indeed Green, then it was an excellent choice...the kid's a future star.

Ive seen enough of him at Villa to know he can be a countries #1. Now, I dont know if he can ever become what Tim Howard did, but he is definitely capable of being the #1 in a WC.

I would hope in 2018 Guzan has less of a responsibility than Howard had this year. Our inability to control the ball was costly and, being frank, f'ing terrible.

Fun ride. 3 great finishes (in terms of excitement, not results obviously) between this/Ghana/Portugal, and a classic never say die USMNT. The talent is going to catch up with the grit in the not-too-distant future.

We didn't need a stunner. We didn't need an amazing header. It was a gimme goal and you fucked it up.
He was flagged for offside. Wouldn't have counted anyway.

No he wasnt. Ian Darke is blind. He even admitted he misunderstood what the AR was signaling (a goalkick).

Cameron was an atrocity, imo, in the CDM position tonight. They got sliced open today because so much space was there in the MF when we lost possession. Beckerman controlled that for 3 games VERY well, and Cameron just gave the ball away and was out of position as well half the night. Bradley and Beckerman gave the defenders an outlet all tournament. Today, it was just Bradley.

Credit to Belgium, who has superior players, but it didnt help not having our best CDM in the game.

He was on, Darke has sounded like an idiot numerous times this season.

I agree about Beckerman, never thought I would said I would miss seeing him.

I'm not taking anythng away from Belgium. But we made it look more one-sided than it needed to be because we couldn't control the ball whatsoever. It was counters or nothing. We never had the "slow, controlled counter" that you see from some other teams because whenever we got pressured in the MF or DMF we'd give it right back.

Green can't change teams again now right. I feel stupid asking because I'm pretty sure he can't. But I want to be sure.

He couldnt before this game.

Once you play a game for the Senior Team in an international game, you are tied to them. You can play in the youth teams and still change (We have a few of those guys).

Yea I didn't mean to imply because of today..just in general. But thanks, I was pretty sure he couldn't, just was hoping for confirmation.

No problem. Klinsmann has pretty much played guys who have duel citizenship immediately once Fifa clears them to tie them down. Not that he is the only one, but its smart. AJ, Green, Johnson could all have played elswhere. Green and Johnson were wanted by Germany...Jurgen was smart, especially in the case of Green. Germany wouldnt use him for at least 4 more years, but the USMNT has room for him, even at 19, so he sells him that. The chance to play for the US now outweighs the possibility to play for Germany...because you never know if you will end up good enough to be a regular for a squad like that (looking at you, Guiseppi Rossi...).

Hopefully Green turns out to be as good as we think and makes this move even better...aka...the Germans wishing Green was with them.
