Had the 5 who were released been cleared for release previously? Half of Guantanamo has been.

They knew what the answer would be and Obama didn't like it so he did it anyways without approval. It's total BS. We have checks and balances for a reason. We live in a democracy for a reason. It's just a mockery of our system and creates a slippery slope for future presidents.

"The top Democrat in the Senate is accusing Republicans of trying to score political points with their criticism of President Barack Obama over the swap of an American solider for five members of the Taliban held at Guantanamo."
"He said the alternative to the swap would have been to leave Bergdahl with the Taliban. He asserted that America is glad Bergdahl is free."
Who is trying to score political points, Harry?
Try listening to the most liberal of your colleagues, Dianne Feinstein, who deplores that KB1 did not follow the law.

Talk now about circling the wagons, claiming Bergdahl is being "swiftboated". LMAO, this administration just knows no bounds.

Heard today that Bergdahl previously deserted on two other occasions. So we release terrorist killers in return for a serial defector. Honest to God, when you think this dictator cannot get any worse, he goes another mile.

One senior military source says many at Pentagon advised the President not to make the trade of Taliban prisoners for Bergdahl.

The reason senior DOD officials opposed the trade is this-- one says it is “like handing over 5 4-star generals of the Taliban.”

I heard that very soon after Bergdahl defected, attacks by the Taliban became more accurate. I wonder how that happened!
Also heard that, similar to what was mentioned above, Dear Leader handing over the Gitmo prisoners would be like Germany returning Patton, MacArthur, Bradley, Nimitz and Eisenhower if they had been POWs in WWII.

LOL....comparing Taliban prisoners to 4-star generals seems like it might be a bit of hyperbole. I guess my question is whether these guys should have been turned over to the Afghani govt to be put on trial for whatever.
But let's be honest...this is helping to distract everyone from the VA scandal.

True. This administration, with the orgasmic help of the mainstream media, has become adept at stepping on its own dick to cover their asses in light of the current "Scandal-of-the-Day."like_that;1622664 wrote:There are just too many to pick from.

Everyone who thought they were making up for slavery two centuries ago by voting for a black man. Is it worth it? Releasing terrorists, filling up our border bases with illegal immigrant children, using the irs to attack his enemies where it hurts most. What the fuck people.

Not sure how your first sentence and rest connect. At all. Were they voting the 2nd term as well to "make up for history?"bases_loaded;1622713 wrote:Everyone who thought they were making up for slavery two centuries ago by voting for a black man. I personally agree with you with the distaste you have, but the first sentence you stated was stupid.
No way there are 60 million "sympathizers" - Mccain and Romney were douche bags and America doesn't get a 3rd choice.

Not sure McCain would have been much better...Romney WAS a much better option - god forbid we elect someone who is actually smart and understands business and economics and doesn't need the office to make himself filthy rich - and never would have lost without the media waging Obama's war on women, on minorities and the wealthy. Worse yet, our failure to elect Romney opens the door for 8 years of Hillary.

Gosh a ruddies where do we find an American leader who fits Gut parameters. An orphan who worked his way through Stanford University achieving a degree in geology. Working as a mining engineer, then founding successful mining corporations, he built a great fortune. A man with a real understanding of business. And on the economy, how about the man who popularized the phrase “Rugged Individualism.” As President he donated his salary. Everything Gut wants in a president. And who does he get Herbert Hoover, right at the bottom of American Presidentsgut;1622732 wrote:Not sure McCain would have been much better...Romney WAS a much better option - god forbid we elect someone who is actually smart and understands business and economics and doesn't need the office to make himself filthy rich - and never would have lost without the media waging Obama's war on women, on minorities and the wealthy. LOL, yeah, the Great Depression was really his fault. And Romney had experience as a governor and with the Salt Lake Olympics, which is more than either Hoover or Obama could claim. And there's no comparison to Romney's business experience - he had a hand in literally dozens of successful companies across several industries.
