Other soldiers were killed searching for this deserter when he went AWOL in 2009. I doubt their Mom's & Dad's are getting hosted at the White House.

I'm pretty moderate in my political leans by every stretch imaginable, but this shit is crazy. Obama lost what support I had left for him, with this decision.

Dude seemed mentally unstable and had to know what he was getting into by wandering off base. Soldiers already died searching for him. I'd hate to see more blood shed via any terror attack, US or foreign if the 5 guys released link back up with the Taliban at some point.

Ummm the issue is you are sending known terrorist MASTERMINDS back to the sandbox. These aren't joe schmo nut jobs, these were high up terrorists. Sympathizing with terrorists? What are you a child? Asking questions about the nature and length of confinement doesn't equate to supporting terrorism.
Either way, even if we assume the dude is a scumbag deserter he's still an American citizen and any punishment or anything like that should be dealt by us, not with a machete and a video camera in a cave.

Well then fuck due process. He's looked upon as a deserter and that is good enough reason for me to let him rot. also, how is this guy not being held for being awol. A guy in my wife's unit was in trouble with the law and went awol to Poland. He tried to come back to the states about 6 months later and was arrested and is about to start his trial. He's going to prison for a long time.
I'd guess the military will want this guy tried, but the administration won't allow it. We better have our eyes on this guy at all times..him and his dad seem like the next home grown terrorists.
