Actually been thinking this myself. That'd be great if they stuck some sort of chip in them and then just bombed them after their released in a year.

People are measuring their response to this event, which is reasonable. However, looking at his background he doesn't appear to be the spy/infiltrator type. His father is a loon and his fellow soldiers have all came out against him. At some point reason takes place.

I agree, another dick move by Dear Leader. I've heard that those close to the decision making process were thinking that getting our soldier returned would be akin to the freeing of the Iranian hostages back in '81. That blew up in their faces when the other guys in his unit told their side of the story!

I've also read how some think it could be an impeachable offense to skirt the 30-day notification period that BHO himself signed into law. But to be frank, as DA points out, it is questionable whether Congress can even make such a law limiting the powers of the Commander in Chief. Where BHO could run into some problems, impeachment-wise (highly doubtful though it is), is that releasing the terrorist from Gitmo could be construed as a high crime by providing material support to the enemy.

Was wondering why they couldnt find him and try to rescuse and it makes sense now with that article that they knew where he was but didnt want to risk it.

I agree. No need to risk special forces guys, the most highly trained forces in the world, to rescue a deserter.
