Trustees choose Jim Tressel as the next president of Youngstown State University.

Who cares? Next year it will be the same shit. 4-12 after three years chud will be fired along with banner and Lombardi then we will switch back to the 4-3.

Actually Akron named Scarborough knowing that the YSU job was offered to Tressel already ;)

Everybody with a brain knew YSU was going to offer Tressel.

not sure what your post has to do with anything. If Akron wanted Tressel, they would have named him and got him. Unfortunately the trustees caved in to external pressure and picked this bum from Toledo.

I doubt that... Akron essentially had first choice all along (as they could match/beat anything YSU offered). Akron was just a little apprehensive about his qualifications (mainly the doctorate thing) and YSU views him as a god and didn't care about that.

I think he will do fine given his leadership skillset, but I'm not surprised he ended up at the smaller school to start.
