Number 11 looked good!! So did their QB. I was impressed! I was there with the wife and baby and pulled out of the lot with 7 min left got home and saw they won. I just glared at my wife, because I wanted to stay but she was whining lol Smithville looked impressive, can't wait to get to another game (whenever that might be). I was glad to see all the league teams won (well other than Dalton dang Bulldogs!). Should help with computer points for some teams this year!!

Definitely an impressive opening week for the WCAL, going 7-1! Especially impressive was the performance Hillsdale put on, dominating Manchester AT Manchester, which is an incredibly difficult place to get a victory. And I think that's twice, now, that the Falcons won there in the past few years.
I thought Dalton would put up more of a fight against Garaway. But I heard from a CVCA guy (they scrimmaged Garaway) that the Pirates will be very good this year. So keep your heads up, Dalton. I like your team.
Chippewa won about like we expected them to.
Northwestern with the win over Fairless. Many unknowns on that Northwestern team, but this is a big confidence booster to start the season against a Fairless team that feels like they have playoff aspirations (I, personally, think they lost too much).
Rittman won!
I picked Norwayne to win, but I was impressed by the point differential.
Waynedale is gonna be tough this year. Tusky Valley has been young the last few years and has been getting better, but is very inconsistent from game-to-game. The Golden Bears can definitely use this game as a measuring stick.
Smithville won despite giving up 400+ yards. I don't want to say they're "lucky," as I don't think the Smithies will be very good this year, but their sophomore QB may have grown up a little bit in the second half, which could pay dividends.

Ridgewood got a move in QB from Cambridge?/Coshocton? I heard. Looks like Bears get a week to prepare for the Wood and their "passing" attack instead of their more traditional power game. May help in the Triway scout prepping the D for aerial attack, amirite?

Ridgewood is back in playoff form this year. Beat Bellaire Big Red easily in week one. Bears have a tough matchup this week followed by Triway in week 3.
A great week for the league in week 1 with the quality wins!

You don't need my opinion...we now have the "Observer" who has all the answers and he doesn't have an agenda at all...................

What agenda? I have no dog in the race. I just think Waynedale loses this week, and gets hammered by Triway. Sorry to ruffle feathers, but in my opinion I don't see Waynedale being a juggernaut like you.

I think Waynedale pulls out a close one this week, and I don't think they will get hammered at home next week versus Triway as I don't think Triway is the juggernaut everyone thinks they are. Did anyone watch that game with West Holmes? Damn make some tackles an that game is a lot closer. Triway 8-2 this year, just my opinion. Check back in 9 weeks an see now it turns out.Wcal observer;1650123 wrote:What agenda? I have no dog in the race. I just think Waynedale loses this week, and gets hammered by Triway. Waynedale could well be 1-2 or 2-1 after week 3. That being said, two of their tougher games are probably behind them at that point.
Triway is good, very good. QB is the best at finding a receiver and getting rid of the ball before anyone gets near him.

A few of the other big games in the WCAL this week are Smithville @ Mogadore, Northwesteren @ Black River and Norwayne @ CVCA. Whats everones thoughts on these games? My thinking is if the WCAL can get out of this week 5-3 that's a pretty good showing.

Juggernaut? Never once remember saying anything close to that. Keep up the great work!: thumbup:Wcal observer;1650123 wrote:What agenda? I have no dog in the race. CVCA is badly hurt by injuries. Norwayne will be favored.

I'm amazed by the arrogance from one fan of a team that is 6-14 over two years, including one being 0-10. It must be because of "all those big impactful lineman" are playing again!

Arrogance? Again....what are you talking about? Also, have I EVER mentioned big, impactful lineman on here? I am not sure I have ever said anyone at Waynedale is considered big. We generally have the "smallest" athletes in the area but usually make up for it by out-working other people.Wcal observer;1650208 wrote:I'm amazed by the arrogance from one fan of a team that is 6-14 over two years, including one being 0-10. With the numbers their young QB put up and the way Miller ran, they might be favored in every game they play this year!thePITman;1650191 wrote:CVCA is badly hurt by injuries. Norwayne will be favored.

Looking like a 6-2 week for the boys from the WCAL once Northwestern finishes it off tomorrow, nice job boys. Hope everyone stayed healthy should be a great race this year, looking like Nor, Chipps , and falcons will be the front runners, but the huskies are making some noise. Lets hear your picks after week two.O-Trap;1650951 wrote:Any other official scores?
