first don't all the kids work hard, our just the ones you favor? Take away the Triway game where they play no defense and look at the numbers. Secondly most of #32 yard rushing have come the past two weeks where he has been QB. Guess you don't calculate that. Don't twist things about kids, when you have stated you could care less about them on many occasions. Yes, I have said some kids shouldn't be handed positions, particularly at the expense of the TEAM. However, I have never stated that any kid didn't work hard, or be respected like you. In regard to #4, I never said he didn't belong on the field, just that he wasn't the best option at QB. I would never disrespect any kid who goes through weight training, conditioning, summer practice, and 10 weeks of the season. They all should be congratulated for their efforts, but not all can be the star QB. It takes a special person to play a special game, and it's a damn shame you show them no respect. You sit behind this screen, and call people out, disrespect teenage athletes,and make a fool of yourself with your behavior. You have no idea what it takes to play this game. You have no idea of the sacrifices that these kids make to play this game; you only say "Coach" has no Jimmy's and joes. My point all along is, regardless of the record, is the coach implementing the best system for success, is he putting the right kid in the right position, does he have the respect and buy in of his team. That is HIS responsibility. If he's doing that, can't ask for much more regardless of record. However, based on several different opinions, and personal observations, I don't feel that's the case. That is my opinion, and last I checked we are all entitled to that. That's the last I'm going to say about that situation. I have no reason to further discuss it. We beat you, and we won't see you in week 11, so no need for you. In 2 1/2 weeks you will have no reason to be in this thread. Your season will be over, and you can lament another 4-6, or 5-5 season. Depending on the game plan, Waynedale should beat Dalton. If they get cute, they could play into Dalton's hands. Dalton didn't display much speed, and was very methodical. If Waynedale takes advantage of the edges via the run, they should win.

Havent seen Hillsdale yet. However, sounds like playing sound, fundamental football. Well coached, and discipline. Not sure if this true, but have heard they are in the Dalton mode of methodical offense, with little big play capability. Again, not sure if it's true. The thing that scare you about Norwayne, is Miller going the distance any play. That being said, Norwayne has looked uninspired the last couple weeks.

Smithville is much improved, and again sounds like Besacon has done a fine job getting the team to buy in. I just think too much speed and athleticism from Chippewa.

Hillsdale is capable of big plays and the QB is getting more comfortable in the pocket. At Loudonville there was no pocket. Tommy Williams is the best at playing down to teams, for good or bad. We never have real blow outs. It does leave people wondering and does not show more than necessary. We had a lot of penalties against Northwestern but that was more out of character. I think a little to much emphasis has been placed on our RB setting records but we are getting the W's.

Besancon really does seem to have gotten the kids to buy in. With all the mess after the 2011 season involving Keith, I was worried that there would be a lot working against Besancon getting the team to expect excellence out of themselves. However, as we sit here in 2014, I can honestly say that the Emerald City is showing a little glint that we used to see. Before this last week, I wasn't sure what to make of them. I even have a post not long ago saying I thought they were the quintessential average team. I couldn't really get a gauge on the Hillsdale game, because the box scores looked so odd (I wasn't there, either, so I had no eye-witness knowledge). They did well enough in the first half to make me think they could have won that game ... even should have. Moreover, when I saw that they only threw four passes, I couldn't believe it, given this team's passing game being better than many during Smithville's big run in the '90s and 2000s. Obviously, Hillsdale made some fantastic adjustments at half. I would have to reason that they are, indeed, a methodical team.

I really hope they can make it a game on Friday. That Chippewa offense looks REALLY good on paper, as does the defense (second in the league in points allowed going into this past week, even with that Norwayne shootout). I can't pick them to lose, much though I'd love to see Smithville win.

The Chipp offense is very good. They can hurt you in so many ways. They have the ability to get the outside, nice inside game. They haven't thrown much, but when they do, it's usually a big play. I'm not sold on the defense. They have been exploited some, and in my opinion are not as good as the numbers state. However, last week they played better against Dalton, but I think the Dogs kinda played into their strengths. They seem to defend downhill running teams well. But are vulnerable to the zone read, and jet sweeps. If you are forced to pass against them, good luck, secondary is excellent. Seems like a lot of respect for Besacon and the entire team coming out of Doylestown this week.

Other than Norwayne, it doesn't seem like any teams have put up the kinds of numbers it would take to beat this team. I mean, Waynedale did score 26, but I don't think 26 points are going to beat the Chipps this year unless you've got a ridiculously stout defense. After that, Tuslaw did get 16, but that's just a couple scores. The other four teams haven't broken double digits. Two of those teams have winning records. Heck, the Chipps blanked Mapleton, and they're 5-1 other than the Chippewa game.

Don't get me wrong. Norwayne showed how to put up points on them, so they're not perfect, but dear Moses, the average score of their games is obscene.

O-trap, Smithville had the hillsdale game in complete control until halftime. I thought they were going to name the score on the falcons. Hillsdale did adjust the D (kudos to the coaching staff), at halftime and the offense did just enough to win. If they played 10 games in a row it would be 5-5 split IMO. Hillsdale plays hard and kids are making plays. Tough one this week against norwayne. I like hillsdale's D and I am still suspect about the offensive consistency. Smithville should give Chippewa a good game.....for what it's worth I thought Dalton would play them tough. So take it for what it's worth. Hope all the teams stay healthy

Honest question, how different is Dalton, Smithville, and Hillsdale from one another? I know there is a difference from them, but it seems like when someone describes each, they sound very similar. Not trying to be cute, just curious.

IMO, smithville is a very good running team, and if they(meaning the coaches would let them pass more) would be very good as well at passing. smithville has 4 or 5 very good receivers! but cause we use the wing-t we dont pass very offten... our qb is very very good for a So.... i haven't watched anything from dalton yet. but hillsdale is an mid-line team which is very different from smithville.....

Dalton is midline as well, and ran some unbalance. Not much of a passing game. I keep hearing plenty of good things about Smithville. Obviously in it this year, but based on how many youngsters should be an early favorite for next season as well.

if the coaches would have opened up the offense in the second half of the hillsdale game in stead of telling the kids "we are going to run it down there throats, and been some what balanced smithville would have won the game!!! they played cover two in the first half, and smithville ran all over them.... they went back to there base d in the second half.. and single covered the wr..... and we didnt thorw the ball one time!!!!!!!!!! im not saying smithville will beat the chipps..... but it should be a great game!!!!!

Well I'm glad for that, but I honestly don't know that I'm counting on a great game. Hopeful for one, of course. But realistic.

#32 should be quarterback. And thats not a knock on Reibe...I think he could be a real good quarterback. He throws a nice ball. But if the goal is to get Strasbaugh the ball anyways, it needs to get there sooner rather than later. The line isn't good enough to waste time messing around throwing the rock sideways like they did against Hillsdale.

I know you're being facetious, but there is a grain of truth to this. Coaches are, of course, responsible for doing what they think will best help the team win. That includes everything from the personnel to the game plan to the play-calling. However, in the same way, a player is responsible for doing what HE can to best help the team win as well. That would include playing the position you're in without complaining to the best of your ability, memorizing and understanding the game plan, and executing the play call.

It's not all on the coach. It's not all on the players. In a close game, it's entirely possible that the coach adjusting the play-calling can determine the outcome, but it's also just as possible that better play execution of the plays called could just as easily determine the outcome.

I know it's not popular to say that the problem may lie with players, but teen boys aren't always going to display the most responsible decision-making. In football, that could manifest itself in weight room attendance, effort in practice, knowledge of the playbook or game plan, mental toughness, and even decision-making on the field. They're often fine young men, but that doesn't make them above reproach.

I used to be told that the coach should be able to call the same play each time, and we should be able to run it successfully, because at some point, it does come down to execution. Now, calling the same play each time wouldn't appear to be a coach doing his best to ensure the team wins, but the responsibility does fall on every member of the team for winning and losing, when you get down to the minutia of it all.

I thought it was interesting about all the "laterals" thrown during that game. I am pretty sure if Pitman was keeping stats a lot of them would have been runs.

This what I have been saying a thousand times, but you know who would rather argue, and not see the point. Let 32 create, and have options. All those passing yards, are for the most part yards after catch. It's 32 turning a 1 yard pass into 20. I said I was done with it, but I had to comment since it was spot on.

Wish I could watch NFL Red Zone for the WCAL this Friday! Three of these games should be very exciting. Wish I could watch them all!

I just couldn't keep my mouth shut but I'm all about the facts. You are absolutely WRONG about most of the passing yards coming from yards after the catch. We have gained VERY LITTLE yards on the flare passes or whatever the heck they are called....honestly I wish they weren't even in our playbook (Yes, I am being critical of the play calling here). BEAST...please back me on this...most of our passing yards have been from passes DOWN FIELD. When you say let 32 create...you do understand that most of his yards (rushing & receiving) aren't from him "creating" yards. When we have thrown the ball to him in "space" he doesn't make a lot of people miss and trust me, he has had those opportunities (like I said...we need to get rid of it in our playbook). However, he does have the "raw" speed to get by people which makes him a very lethal weapon. 28 is much more "shifty" and can make people miss at a better success rate.

Here's what I think would be best for us...4 at qb with 28 & 32 in backfield and use a lot of misdirection which would benefit ALL 3 of them and we could utilize their strengths. Can you at least agree with that?
