Why hasn't the NBA owners voted yet? How long can that take . Those tricky bastards. Vote already. Some have skeletons for sure and Sterling might have some more goodies for us.

If anyone is still interested in this case, Sterling's lawyer wrote a pretty thorough and logically solid response to the charges against Sterling. Basically, the NBA is in some shit and I wouldn't be surprised at all if this A) lasts years, B) Sterling wins.
Here's the response: http://a.espncdn.com/pdf/2014/0527/dts_nba_charge.pdf

financially it makes the most sense for him to sell in a forced sale...number one because the clippers are good right now and also by it being forced on him much in the same way that your land can be taken through eminent domain, he could argue to have the 200-300 mill tax waived. or so i heard on the radio.

I have always disliked Smith but Damn that was fucking awesome. I have to say what he said was perfect even better then Mark Cuban. This is probably the most real racial conversation I have heard on tv.

$2B is incredible though. If I were Sterling I would re-consider fighting this to the death. $2B is a lot of money to hire a bunch of lawyers to absolutely CLOWNSTOMP the NBA.

It's being reported that if Sterling had decided to sell before the shit hit the fan, this franchise would've sold for @900mil...who says having a deadline isn't profitable

He's no longer the controlling owner. Apparently his wife got experts to declare him mentally incapacitated, so his signature/approval wasn't needed to make a sale go through.sleeper;1620904 wrote:Doesn't really mean shit until the controlling owner signs off on it.

Now his attorneys are saying those reports/findings were "grossly exaggerated" and are suing the NBA for a record $1B.Heretic;1620949 wrote:He's no longer the controlling owner. I'd like to see him name names, and tell where the bodies are buried and what not, but ultimately he's losing the team regardless (if NBA has the votes) if how this case goes. If the reports we've seen regarding the NBA Bylaws are accurate, anyway.

Yeah I don't think (and I really have no idea) he's doing this to get the team back; he wants to cripple the NBA.HighRoller74;1621044 wrote:Not really.

Looks like the deal included protection from lawsuits for the NBA.
I assume this thing is over now?

I think a moral of the story for owners is "if you ARE going to do or say something racist, choose carefully"
When Yao Ming & Rockets went to the Miami Heat, The Heat hosted a "fortune cookie" giveaway. (Insert watermelon for Carmelo Anthony and see what happens)
